Peter Pszonowsky of Landview Landscaping Makes Donation
Pete Pszonowsky has made a major donation to the project
at Pittsfield Youth Athletic Park by considerably reducing his
bill for hydro seeding the lower three fields. It is because of
his generosity and the generosity of other local people that
Pittsfield will have the finest small-town youth complex in the
State of New Hampshire when it is completed. We are looking for
others to help—truck drivers, operators, landscapers, and
laborers. There are jobs, large and small, for everyone. Contact
Larry Berkson at 798-3984 or by e-mail at

Pittsfield Girl Scouts
The time of year has arrived! Time for Girl Scout Troops to
start meeting, planning, and having fun. Some of our current

projects with Globe Manufacturing and the Pink Ribbon Tour. We
spent an evening sewing pink quilt tops for the pop-up tents
used during the event.
Come register for Girl Scouts at the “sign-up central”
during the Pittsfield Elementary School open house on September
24th. Girl Scouts is for girls in Kindergarten through 12th

take place at the end of October to officially welcome all our
new members. Also coming up is the Fall Product Sale which
includes chocolates, nuts and other yummy treats.

but would still like to sign up your daughter for Scouts please

Obituaries
Richard K. Horne
Richard K. Horne, 72, of 191 Cotton Hill Road, died at the
Lakes Region General Hospital on Tuesday, September 8, 2009.
Richard was born April 25, 1937, in Laconia, N. H., the son
of Kenneth H. and Arleen (Ring) Horne. He was a longtime
resident of Laconia and had been a math teacher with the
Pittsfield School District.
Never married, Richard (known affectionately as RK) devoted
his life to his students and his family. He was an avid
photographer and gardener, but will be most remembered as a
person who spent thousands of volunteer hours making a positive
difference in the lives of many youths. Since his retirement
after 40 plus years of teaching in Pittsfield, N.H, he had spent
his summers helping with the children’s program at the town
park.
He was a member of the Bible Speaks Church, Lakeport.
RK loved to play basketball, tennis, bowl, hike and play
card games. He was known for always being at school or leading a
small group of students on an adventure every weekend day. In
1988, he was given the Presidential Outstanding Teacher Award.
Students who became his friends after graduation regarded him
fondly as an elder-brother figure and continued to meet for game
nights or sports events. For students, friends and family,
Richard was always there to listen and to help.
Richard is survived by a sister, Pat Lounsbury, of Gilford;
a brother, Pastor Robert N. Horne and his wife, Eleanor, of
Laconia; and many nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by
his parents.
A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, September 12,
2009, in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette
Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
RK’s brother, Pastor Robert N. Horne, officiated.
Burial followed in the family lot in South Road Cemetery,
Belmont, N.H.
Memorial donations may be made to the Bible Speaks Church,
