Letter
To
the good citizens of Northwood,
The
building of the stonewall at the Meadows State Park has begun.
Steve Bailey has secured the necessary permits. It has been
suggested to build it rustic looking.
Tom
Chase found and delivered around two tons from Priscilla up on
Sherburne Hill Road. He is also letting us pick rock from the
edge of his property, and delivering them.
Joe
MacCaffrey found Gail from Tucker Brook Farm across from the
park. She told us we could not touch the old stonewalls, but we
could dig them out of the old pasture behind the walls. We have
dug and dolly up the hill to a staging area. Then, onto a ramp,
into Joe’s pickup truck. We estimate we have six tons, three
moved, and three to get moved.
I
think we need around thirty tons. My brother, Mark, and my new
brother, Loney (Spyder), have worked around three or four days
getting rock.
This wall was my brother’s idea. I ought to have my head
examined for going along with it. Anyway, we could sure used
around a thousand dollars for some cut granite ends, with a few
pieces for the wall. Stay stoned.
