CBNA Theatre To Present Spoon River March 8 & 10
CBNA theatre students (from left) Mackenzie Flanders, Julia
Sommer and Jordan Trahant (standing) in a scene from Coe-Brown
Northwood Academy’s production of Spoon River.
In
1915 American poet Edgar Lee Masters penned a classic book of
poetry entitled Spoon River Anthology in which he chronicles the
lives of the citizens of the fictional town of Spoon River by
allowing them to speak for themselves from the grave in the form
of epitaphs. On Thursday, March 8, at 7 pm, and on
Saturday, March 10, at 2 pm and 7 pm, Coe-Brown Northwood
Academy Theatre will proudly present a new adaptation of this
classic work called Spoon River by contemporary playwright Jason
Pizzarello.
Touching, anguished, and contemptuous, their voices and stories
weave together in this fresh new take on a modern American
classic. These small town folk will be unforgettable as they
evoke universal themes of hope, despair, community, and love.
The
ensemble cast of 25 students includes seniors Sandra Black, Erin
Boodey, Zachary Helm, Nina Laramee, Jacob Lock, Shemrey Lussier,
Alexander Mercedes, Cailinn Monahan, Allison Rose, Julia Sommer
and Kathryn Spadafora; juniors Braelin Ash, Brian Downer,
Mackenzie Flanders, Ian Gollihur, Cooper Leduke, Lily Marston;
sophomores Emily Dallaire, Patrick Helm, Mirah Johnston, Caitlin
Reynolds, Lauren Rose; and freshmen Darin Sweet and Jordan

and Lauren Best.
