Pittsfield Music Producer Nominated For
“Producer Of The Year” Award
Rocking
Horse Studio, New Hampshire’s premier audio production and recording
facility, is proud to announce that owner/producer Brian Coombes has
received a “Producer of the Year” nomination from the New England
Music Awards. The award recognizes excellence in music production
from New England-based music producers.
Coombes
has produced records for a diverse list of well-known regional acts,
including the Dusty Gray Band, the Brooks Young Band, MB Padfield,
Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki, Christian Cuff, Will Kindler, Karen Grenier,
Dominic & the Lucid, Theodore Treehouse, Steve Blunt, and the Adam
Ezra Group. He also produced the music for the “New Hampshire
Chronicle Christmas at Rocking Horse Studio” television program,
which aired on New Hampshire’s ABC affiliate, WMUR-TV, in December
2013. In his career as a producer and musician, Coombes has worked
with such notable musicians as Greg Hawkes (the Cars), Garth Hudson
(the Band), Ian McDonald (King Crimson), Chris Difford (Squeeze),
Tony Rombola (Godsmack), Ingrid Chavez (Prince), and Tony Garnier
(Bob Dylan).
Coombes
is currently producing records for a number of artists at Rocking
Horse, including the legendary William Edward McGee (ex-Tower of
Power), and critically-acclaimed newcomers Pat & the Hats, Tristan
Omand, and Rachel Vogelzang.
In
addition to his work in the studio, Coombes also contributes to the
“Cail & Company” radio show every Thursday on WTPL The Pulse in
Concord, records live shows at the Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry
for Frank FM radio, and is actively involved in promoting local
music shows at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord and other
venues throughout New Hampshire.
“It’s
an honor to be nominated for this award,” states Coombes. “It’s
gratifying to be recognized by our musical peers for the work that
we’re doing here at Rocking Horse.”
The
nominations are selected by a committee of New England music
professionals. The award is decided by popular vote. To learn more
