Rocking Horse Studio, New Hampshire’s premier audio production and recording facility, is proud to announce that owner/producer Brian Coombes has received a “Producer of the Year” nomination from the New England Music Awards. The award recognizes excellence in music production from New England-based music producers.

Coombes has produced records for a diverse list of well-known regional acts, including the Dusty Gray Band, the Brooks Young Band, MB Padfield, Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki, Christian Cuff, Will Kindler, Karen Grenier, Dominic & the Lucid, Theodore Treehouse, Steve Blunt, and the Adam Ezra Group. He also produced the music for the “New Hampshire Chronicle Christmas at Rocking Horse Studio” television program, which aired on New Hampshire’s ABC affiliate, WMUR-TV, in December 2013. In his career as a producer and musician, Coombes has worked with such notable musicians as Greg Hawkes (the Cars), Garth Hudson (the Band), Ian McDonald (King Crimson), Chris Difford (Squeeze), Tony Rombola (Godsmack), Ingrid Chavez (Prince), and Tony Garnier (Bob Dylan).

Coombes is currently producing records for a number of artists at Rocking Horse, including the legendary William Edward McGee (ex-Tower of Power), and critically-acclaimed newcomers Pat & the Hats, Tristan Omand, and Rachel Vogelzang.

In addition to his work in the studio, Coombes also contributes to the “Cail & Company” radio show every Thursday on WTPL The Pulse in Concord, records live shows at the Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry for Frank FM radio, and is actively involved in promoting local music shows at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord and other venues throughout New Hampshire.

“It’s an honor to be nominated for this award,” states Coombes. “It’s gratifying to be recognized by our musical peers for the work that we’re doing here at Rocking Horse.”

The nominations are selected by a committee of New England music professionals. The award is decided by popular vote.
