Scouts Visit Battleship Cove
Pack 85 of Chichester recently made a trip to Battleship Cove in
Fall River, Massachusetts, to explore the world’s largest collection
of historic naval ships. After touring the battleship,
Massachusetts, destroyer, Joseph P. Kennedy Jr., submarine,
Lionfish, PT Boats 617 and 796, and the Russian missile corvette
Hiddensee, the scouts, their parents, and adult leaders spent the
night of 11/5 on board the famous USS Massachusetts.
Battleship Cove’s Nautical Nights program included a story teller,
major motion picture, knot tying, morse code, and a question and
answer session with veterans that have served on these ships! The
trip has enabled the scouts to better understand and appreciate the
sacrifices made by veterans of all military branches in all wars.
Cub Scouts is for boys in grades 1-5 (or ages 7-10).
Those interested in learning more about the Chichester Cub Scout
pack are invited to visit any meeting. Email Karen McCormack at
