13 Old Houses Of Downtown Pittsfield Grace
2012 Calendar
This early Pittsfield home still exists today. Can
you guess it’s location? Hint: Then, as today, the road to the left
leads to Northwood and the one to the right goes to Epsom and
Deerfield. This old photograph and twelve others, each with a brief
story, are reproduced in the Pittsfield Historical Society’s 2012
calendar available now.
Take an architectural journey through town viewing
pictures of Pittsfield homes including a 1700’s cape, an Italianate
home, Greek Revival style homes, a Queen Anne/Colonial Revival
house, a Second Empire house, and others. Each old photo is
accompanied by a Larry Berkson history lesson. Eleven houses still
exist today. See if you can figure out where they are and how they
are now being used.
Obtain your calendar today for $10 at the Pittsfield
Town Hall, Moo-veez Galore, or at the Suncook Valley Sun office,
along with other gift items such as books on Pittsfield’s history,
historical Christmas ornaments, and note cards. These and other
wares will also be available at the Pittsfield Historical Society
table at the Congregational Church Christmas Fair on December 3rd.
All items, along with a calendar from former years
chock full of great old photos are always available at the
Pittsfield Historical Society’s office and museum on Tuesday
mornings, or by calling Fuzz Freese at 435-7777.
