Will Sir Harry find a princess bride for Prince Dauntless? Will the king ever speak again? Will the queen ever stop talking? You will just have to find out the answers for yourself as The Pittsfield Players’ Kids’ Theater Workshop performs “Once Upon a Mattress,” the musical based on the story of “The Princess and the Pea,” next week.

“Kids just love performing this show, and they learn so much and have so much fun,” said Maye Hart, director. “This show has stood the test of time,” she added.

With Dee Dee Pitcher doing the choreography assisted by dance captains Alison Quigley and Brianna King, costuming by Cindi Banfill and Kathy Pence, and lighting by Jim Hart, this show continues to be popular and entertaining.

“Once Upon a Mattress” is produced under special agreement with Rodgers and Hammerstein Theatricals. Music is by Mary Rodgers, lyrics by Marshall Barer and book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller and Marshall Barer.
