Visit the Gilmanton Corner Library and have fun with this
month’s theme: WORDS.
The January theme at the Gilmanton Corner Public Library is
WORDS!!! The table display has an arrangement of many types of
educational tools to show you how you can use these words in a
game form, dictionary, thesaurus and many other displays for you
to view. Jeff Duquette of Gilmanton stopped in to check over our
display recently.
Words are powerful because most people think in them. The more
words you own, the more things you can think about. For example,
people who live in very cold, snowy climates have many more
words for snow (27 in some regions) than we do. They see and
think about snow in so many ways. For fun, put on your thinking
cap to see how many words you use to describe snow.
While at the Library, pick up one of the Word Search puzzles to
see how quickly you can complete the puzzle. It kicks the brain
into third gear.
To while away the winter blues for you folks who don’t
participate in winter sports, we have a large collection of DVDs
and videos. We continue to thank the community for donating to
our collection.
