Obituaries
Daniel
Warren Webster
Gilmanton- Daniel Warren Webster recently of
Concord, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2017. He was born in
Laconia on April 30, 1929, Danny was the son of William Webster and
Marjorie (Pitman) Webster, and brother of Eleanor. Danny married the
love of his life, Barbara (Andrew) Webster in 1990.
Danny
graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1946. He served in the US
Army from 1946-1948, serving in Japan at the end of WWII. Following
his service he attended the Concord School of Business and graduated
with a degree in Accounting. He worked at Concord Lumber Co. before
going to work for the State of NH where he worked as a Auditor for
the Dept. of Health and Human Services, retiring in 1994.
Danny
was an active member and officer in many organizations including the
American Legion Ellis-Geddes-Levitt Post #102, The V.F.W., The NH
Veterans Association, State Employees Association Chapter 1, The
Gillmanton Historical Society, Smith Meeting House Assoc., Gardner’s
Cove Association, and the NH Collectors Club. Danny was active in
the Republican Party in NH, and he represented Gilmanton at the
State Republican Party Convention for many years.
Danny loved
country music, parades, pot luck suppers, and especially traveling,
having visited 49 states out of 50 and many foreign countries. He
looked froward to Legion Conventions around the country and in NH.
He loved his time at Loon Pond, Ogunquit ME, and Kauai HI. He was
very patriotic and loved his hometown.
He was predeceased by his
parents, his wife Barbara, and close friends, Dave and Ann Geddes of
Gilmanton.
He is survived by his sister Eleanor Webster of
Boscawen, step children Gary Andrew of Concord and Cathy Cullinane
of Enfield NH, and grandchildren Andrew and Grace Cullinane, and
many friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday May 20th
at the Lower Gilmanton First Baptist Church, Province Rd. Road/Route
107 in Gilmanton followed by graveside services at Smith Meeting
House Cemetery, 604 Meeting House Road, Gilmanton.
Donations may
be made in Danny’s memory to the Gilmanton Year-Round Library, a
cause he worked to support at 1385 NH-140 Gilmanton Iron Works, NH
03837.
