Lower Gilmanton First Baptist Church Society Annual Meeting
The First Baptist Church on Route 107 in Lower Gilmanton is holding
the Annual Meeting of the Church Society on Monday, April 27, 2015,
at 7:00 PM at the meeting house.
The Church was founded in 1773 and the current building was built in
1842. Over the years it has served the community with four Sunday
evening services each summer and a community Christmas service as
well as for weddings and funerals. If you are interested in helping
to keep this special landmark, which is on the National Historic
Register, an active part of our community for the future, please
attend the annual meeting.
Obituaries
Robert F. Locke
Robert F. Locke, 79, of Loon Pond Road, Gilmanton died March 29th at
home following a brief illness.
He was born in Pittsfield, the son of Harold and Florence (Coburn)
Locke. He was a welder by trade and had worked for the P.K. Lindsey
Co. in Deerfield for 33 years. He had worked many years in the woods
with his dad and the last 24 years for the Barton Brothers Lumber
Co. in Barnstead as a delivery person.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sylvia (Dudley) Locke and
members of his family include: three sons, Bryan Locke, Bruce Locke
and his wife Stacy both of Barnstead, Philip Locke of Wilmot, and a
daughter Debbie Piaseczny and husband Steven of Barnstead, four
grandchildren, Courtney and Jacob Piaseczny, and Samantha and
Christina Locke, three sisters, Virgie Hutchinson, Jean Brown and
Donna Stockman.
He was predeceased by a sister, Betty St. Laurent.
He also had several ½ brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.
There are no visiting hours. Funeral Services were held on Thursday,
April 2, in the Barnstead Parade Congregational Church, Parade Road,
Barnstead. The Rev. Sandy Pierson, Pastor officiated. A burial will
be scheduled at the Floral Park Cemetery, Pittsfield in the spring.
