Letter
Dear Gilmanton Voters,
Please support the Gilmanton Year-Round Library this year at
election time.
The request is LESS than last year by more than $6,000 so there will
be no new tax impact.
The Board was able to raise the $18,000 additional funds for this
year AND $25,000 to go toward the 2015 year keeping the request to
$45,000.
The Board is very fiscally responsible.
The board can apply for grants if they have Town financial help.
More services and programs are available. E-books are now available
for Gilmanton residents.
New families expect to have a library and most come to the library
within weeks of moving to town.
School children are now regularly walking over to the library for
after school programs and have come to expect the service.
The library is serving the needs of this community in a positive and
economical manner.
Consider the facts and do what is right for our community. This
request has only a positive impact on all residents.
Please support Warrant Article # 25 on March 10th when you go to
vote.
Sincerely,
Anne Kirby
E-Books Now At The Gilmanton Year-Round Library
The Gilmanton Year-Round Library is happy to announce they now offer
access to Ebooks. Librarian Tasha LeRoux Stetson tells
patrons: “If you already have a library card all you need to do is
make a quick stop at gyrla.org and follow the link to start your
search For any questions regarding your account
information please call 603-364-2400 and we will be happy to assist
you.”
Over the past years the Library has received numerous requests from
patrons to add e-book service to the library. Tasha continues:
“After we did the initial research we were sad to have to say no but
the cost was too high for our budget. Each year we have revisited
this idea and when we received information stating we were one of
the only towns in the entire state not offering this service, we
knew we had to make a change.
“It is our belief the residents of Gilmanton NH are equally as
deserving as the rest of New Hampshire’s residents. Seeing we were
below the curve again pushed us to find a way to make it happen.
Through generous and continued donations we were able make this
small dream a reality.”
“It gives us great pleasure to be able to bridge the gaps, offer
access and create equal opportunities for the citizens of this town.
So, stop on by and try out this new service. No Kindle at home? Did
you know you can read an ebook on your phone too? Let us show you
how.”
Letter To The Editor
To the Editor,
We just wanted to voice our support for the Gilmanton Year Round
Library. What I would like to focus on is how our family and many
like ours in town have greatly benefited from the Year Round
library. This Library has been a real treat to our family and we
have used it for books, movies, and even shared in the different fun
events that the Library hosts. Just last weekend our 7th grade
daughter finished her book Friday night and wanted the second in the
series. Did we mention the fact that we love that our kids love to
read . . . books . . . actual, turn the pages, books? Saturday
morning we drove to the library and got her the book. Today our 2nd
grader watched a movie there after school with some of his friends.
The library is a comfortable, safe environment for our kids. The
hours are set, they are year round, and they are convenient.
We feel many times when we go to the library it’s like old home day
for a young family like ours. It is so awesome to see other
families we know, who are from our community, enjoying this
resource.
The Year Round Library has become a staple for our family and we
don’t want to keep this gem we have found, a secret or to ever see
it close.
