Gilmanton Year Round Library Upgrades Computers Thanks to generous
donations and fundraising, the Gilmanton Year Round Library has been
able to replace six out of date computers with new computers.
These new computers will allow the library to provide superior
technology which will expand the net, provide for greater digital
information, and enhance the information sharing and learning
experience of Gilmanton residents.
In this increasingly digital world and changes in technology, the
role of the GYRL required these upgrades. Providing the most
up-dated access to computers is a key role the library strives to
achieve on a continual basis.
While the computers are used throughout the year, Tasha Stetson,
head librarian, explains that their heaviest use is during the
school year when students are researching term papers and various
projects as school assignments. Most recently, there has been
an upsurge in usage by residents doing job searches, completing
résumés and job applications.
The library computers are a community
service and available to the community-at-large.
The outdated computers will be donated to the elementary school and
utilized on a limited basis by faculty and staff to help augment
existing systems.
