Allan McCulloch To Show Work At Gilmanton Year Round Library
Now
Through September
Allan McCulloch is an artist/craftsman whose work includes multimedia wall
constructions, standing folding screens and coffee tables. These art pieces
are created from painted wood, glass, metal, mirror, paper and found
objects.
Inspired by the work of Joseph Cornell, McCulloch began making
“Magic boxes” in 1974. He says “With these art pieces, I attempt to create
work that is first of all visually exciting, drawing you in and evoking
questions. Work that honors and at times pokes fun at the wondrous world we
live in. And finally, work that balances the aesthetic and the intellectual,
the visual and the spiritual.”
McCulloch has been an artist since childhood receiving his first
professional training at The Cooper Union in New York City with further
studies at the University of Minnesota in architecture and ceramics. He
founded Killer Bear Design in 1978 and has created over a dozen major
installations for banks and corporate offices in New England. His work has
been shown in many galleries and at major craft shows. He created the
“Absolute New Hampshire” ad as part of the Absolute Vodka Statehood campaign
in 1992.
Allan McCulloch’s artworks have received many awards and honors and are
included in numerous private, corporate, and public collections.

Letter Of Thanks
The Family of Robert “Bob” Potter wants to send a huge thank you to
everyone who helped to make Bob’s wishes come true. He wanted a cheerful
memorial, a last ride by tractor from the church to the farm where he was
born, and a great big party to celebrate his life. We could never imagine
all the food that came in. He would have been so happy. We know he was
watching. Thank you too, for all your kind donations, beautiful flowers,
great food, kind words, cards, and phone calls. We couldn’t have done it
without all of your support.
With all our love,
Nancy Potter
