On Wednesday, January 17 at 1:30 the Epsom Library will be showing the film “Victoria and Abdul.”  Starring Academy Award winner Judi Dench as Queen Victoria, the film tells the extraordinary true story of an unexpected friendship in the later years of her reign.  When a young clerk travels from India to participate in the Queen’s Golden Jubilee he is surprised to forge an unlikely alliance with Her Majesty.  The friendship deepens and the Queen sees the world changing through new eyes and happily reclaims her humanity.

At The Epsom Public Library:  Emily Moore’s Art Exhibit With A Conscience

The Epsom Public Library is pleased to present an exhibit which vividly captures the ongoing journey of expression of Deerfield artist, Emily Moore.  The show is about color.  Flowers. Gardens…and a whole set of quietly abstract pastels not yet publicly exhibited.  It presents a feast for the senses of its viewers as well as a ray of hope for many who will never see these paintings.  After an eye-opening opportunity to work with Syrian refugees in Greece in 2016, the artist, who works primarily in oils, has decided to make four of her paintings available as note cards, with 2/3 of the sale price going to refugees worldwide through a donation to the International Rescue Committee.  Additionally, the IRC will receive 20% of the sales of paintings and framed prints at the exhibit.

The exhibit runs from January 20 to March 3, and may be viewed during regular library hours:  Monday – Thursday, 10 am to 7 pm, and Saturday, 9 am to 1 pm.  The public is cordially invited to meet the artist at an opening reception on Saturday, January 20, from 10 am to 1 pm.  For more information, call the library at 736-9920 or visit www.epsomlibrary.com.  To learn more about artist Emily Moore, visit www.emilymoore.com.
