Congratulations to Karyn
Veinotte of Epsom, who was named to the Dean’s List for the
fall 2016 semester at The University of Maine at Farmington.
On Monday, March 13
at 2:00 PM, in conjunction with the Chichester Town Library, the
Epsom Library will host the Memory Café, an informal, social
gathering for anyone with memory issues and their caretakers.
We will play a video game using a DVD entitled The Fabulous Fifties.
The video shows film clips, historic photos and commentary of the
times to see how much we all can remember. Even wrong answers
will provide information that will be fun to remember. The
idea is not to test knowledge, but to engage memories and have
fun.
Open to anyone in the
area, the Café offers a chance for socialization in a comfortable
setting.
Refreshments will be
served.
On Wednesday, March
15, at 1:30, the library will show the film Inferno. Starring
Tom Hanks, this film is called “a thrilling action movie with
lots of surprising twists and turns” by Edward Douglas in NY Daily
News. Waking up in an Italian hospital and suffering from
amnesia, Hanks finds he is the target of a manhunt. He enlists
the help of a doctor to help him recover his memory as they race
across Europe to stop a virus that could wipe out half the world’s
population. (DVD jacket)
Letter Epsom Voters!
I’m voting for Virginia
Drew for Epsom Selectman on March 14th!
I trust Virginia with
taking care of our town, because I have seen the care she gives to
our town! I have known her for 30 years! I know she is honest,
giving, and well informed. She has volunteered for our
community and the children in this town for decades. She
cherishes the history of the town, the people, and has always
stepped forward to give of herself for others. She has a
proven record of making sound and informed decisions.
Virginia will bring a
fresh perspective to the Board of Selectman and offer creative
solutions to town issues. She is willing to listen to people
and consider other’s views. Please elect Virginia Drew to this
important town position!

Letter To The Editor
To keep this short and
sweet, I do not support Articles 9 and 10.
We have two town
buildings. One gets used 2-3 hours a month - 10 months out of the
year. The other building (the small addition) gets used 8 hours a
week.
We also have another
building that someone running for Selectman wants to put 1.5 million
into, which would end up being used maybe 2 or 3 times a month.
I would also like to let
it be known that my support is for Chris Bowes for Selectman.
He has a big heart, does
what is in the best interest of the Town and is not agenda-driven!
He is also working hard to find ways to lower our taxes.
Bless You, Gordon
Ellis

Just under three years
ago now, we as a town had voted down the rather costly renovation of
a church basement to be used as town offices. I voted against the
project. My rationale, was that we could do much more with far less.
I volunteered through an email to find a solution to what I had
voted against.
I got a call back a few
weeks later. It was first term Selectman Chris Bowes who was asking
for me. Chris wasn’t calling to tell me I had been selected to be a
member of a committee. Chris was on the phone vetting me thoroughly.
He asked a series of questions about the type of person that I am,
what I did, how I thought I could contribute, and generally where I
stood. Chris’s objective, was to obtain the highest quality people
whom would represent you all well. This was my first experience with
Chris, it was impressive. I’ve yet to be disappointed since.
I gained some great
friends like Selectman Bowes participating in that committee. Chris
and I have become friends who compare notes on our children, and we
still speak at length about how to improve our community. Every time
we speak. Chris is excited about how he’s making Epsom a better
place for every one of us.
I have never met a person
who more genuinely cares about us, the people of Epsom. So I’m
taking a few minutes to let you all know that that’s why I don’t
have a reservation at all in endorsing Chris Bowes for a second term
as Selectman. It is my hope that we all hold value in the great
things Chris has done for us all, and vote accordingly this
election.
Best Regards, Chris

Epsom Town Elections will
be held March 14. I shall be voting for Virginia Drew to be a member
of the Board of Selectmen. Virginia is a fine candidate for this
office as she has long been involved in town and school affairs in
Epsom. She has been a member of the budget committee, the school
board, and a library trustee. She has been a long time Epsom
resident and has knowledge of opur needs.
At the State level,
Virginia has been director of the Visitors Center at the State House
and is knowledgeable of the work of the legislature. Many elementary
students from around the state have learned of the legislature
through the many tours she conducts for school children.
I hope that Epsom voters
will join me in voting for this most capable and caring candidate.
