Epsom Food Pantry

Well, Good Day Everyone.  I  am sorry I missed a few but with work and can you believe with the temp at 75, I came down with a miserable cold which took the starch right out of me.  But all better, thank you.

Well, the Pantry has been busy.  Before I go on, you must get in and sign up for the Thanksgiving basket and turkey.  We have a deadline to meet, so call or come in, call me, but sign up. You know how great they are.

Our needs according to Ken and June are: cream soups, tomato, especially, good old Hamburger Helper and anything else that you want to donate.

We have received some absolutely fabulous gifts from the Elks, Concord Epsom Lodge #1210, consisting of money and food. Aren’t they great? And from first time friends of the Pantry, a group known as Generations Dental Care. Now this consisted of toothbrushes, both kids, toddlers, and adults, then 160 tubes of toothpaste. All this in total amounted to $635.69. How about that? Thank you all so much from the Epsom food Pantry. Our teeth are so important.

Well that is all for now and...

Until next time,

Valley Artisans October Artisan Of The Month

Cynthia Kern - Artisan Of The Month

Cynthia Kern has been a member of Valley Artisans for 3 seasons.  Although she was born in the south, she considers herself a true Yankee and proudly adopts the philosophy of, “use it, reuse it, then find another use for it”.

Cynthia upcycles old wool blankets and outdated men’s suits to craft braided rugs and chair pads.  She also repurposes old barn boards from her colonial farm to create sconces, shelves and quilt racks.

Cynthia’s current passion is seeking out unique fibers from local alpaca and sheep farms and hand dying those fibers with natural plant pigments and then knitting cable and lace shawls, socks, hats, mittens and sweaters.

Cynthia invites you stop by the shop and share your stories of a farm you love with her.

Cynthia has kindly donated a pair of ladies cozy warm hand knitted socks for our October raffle.

Along with Cynthia’s many lovely items we have three rooms of locally made items from over 50 artisans.

Valley Artisans is open Wed. thru Sunday from 10AM to 6PM, and 7 days a week in November and December.
