Mainstream Media’s Manipulation Continues
Republican presidential candidates Michele Bachmann
and Ron Paul expressed outrage shortly after the CBS News-National
Journal GOP debate Saturday night, alleging that debate organizers
specifically cut them out of the discussion.
The Minnesota congresswoman accused the debate
planners of "outrageous manipulation" in suppressing the number of
questions she would be asked, according to MinnPost.com.
Similarly, Texas congressman Paul’s campaign shot
out an email, with the subject line, "What a Joke," after the
debate, alleging that CBS limited him to 90 seconds of air time
during the 90 minute debate, according to exeterpatch.com.
Paul’s campaign echoed the Bachmann camp’s anger,
with campaign manager John Tate’s "What a Joke" email saying: "It
literally made me sick watching the mainstream media once again
silence the one sane voice in this election. The one dissenter to a
decade of unchecked war. The one candidate who stands for true
defense and actual constitutional government. Ron Paul was silenced,
in perhaps the most important debate of the cycle."
It scares me to realize that the big shots of the
news media can muzzle any candidate by the types of questions that
they are asked, or the lack of questions asked, so their message
cannot get out to the voting public. I have to believe that they and
their political partners are afraid the voters will get the true
picture of what goes on in this country.
The public should insist on equal coverage for all
candidates.

initiatives are not consistent with the direction the SAU Board
believes it must continue. The Board thanks Superintendent Billings

In the Nov 16 issue of Suncook Valley Sun, "my"
State Representative Dan McGuire stated "Capitalism is an economic
and moral system...". Once I got my lower jaw back on hinge, his
"moral" tone was quite the belly laugh. I have about 55 years worth
of experience, education, knowledge. (re: capitalistic and other
systems.) But, I do not believe Mr. McGuire and other
neo-conservative Republicans could care less about "my" experiences.
Maybe someday, Mr. McGuire and other
neo-conservatives might just want to take a walk around the town of
Epsom. Visit with residents, small business owners, civil servants
and simply ask "What’s the biggest problem you personally face today
and what do you think we can do to solve it? And don’t give us the
"boot strap speech" when "Wall Street, Big Pharma, Big Fossil Fuels,
Citizens United..." have most of us by the throats.
Pardon my age, but I learned a moral system is
different from an ethical system which is different from a political
system which is different from an economic system. If "capitalism"
is a moral system also, how does a western corporation enforce a 10
year contract with fundamentalist Muslim Afghans, Egyptians,
Iranians, Iraqis who morally "literally" believe the future is in
the "Hands of Allah/God"? God/Allah can change "His" mind at "will",
be it by luck, natural disaster or "providence".
But, maybe I’m wrong. So, perhaps "my" State
Representative Dan McGuire can educate me on "capitalism as a moral
code." What can he do to get "the word" out so the rest of us can
learn? Oh, wow, I have a great idea. Mr. McGuire should start a
church. And I have the perfect name for it! He can call it: "The
Church of Jesus Christ and The Money Lenders."
Respectfully,
Nancy Heath
