Letter To The Editor
A
BIG thank you to Epsom Road Agent Gordon Ellis, and the Epsom road
crew, Advanced Paving and all the people who made the paving of New
Orchard Road become a reality. It’s been long over due. I personally
have waited 15 years for this to happen and still can’t believe my
eyes. I’m sure everyone who lives on or off New Orchard Road are
very happy it’s finally happened.
To
my fellow neighbors, please be sure to shake Gordon’s hand or tip
your hat to him the next time you see him.
Job
well done, thanks again. Sandie White

On
July 14 award-winning author Margaret Evans Porter was the first
guest speaker in the library’s Adult Summer Reading Program.
Blending the theme of “Water Your Mind” with her own story as a
writer, Ms. Evans provided a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting
evening to an enthusiastic audience. Bill Dodge was the recipient of
the door prize, a handmade basket donated by Betsy Bosiak.
The
next speaker will be a Master Gardener from the UNH Cooperative
Extension on July 28 at 7:00 p.m. at the library. The topic will be
“Putting Your Garden to Bed.” Another door prize will be awarded.
Weekly drawings are being held throughout the six-week period of the
Adult Program. When patrons who have signed up for the program
return a book or audio book that they have read, they simply fill
out a slip of paper and drop it into a container. On July 19, Dianne
Bird was the winner of a gift certificate donated by Care Pharmacy.
The next drawings will be held on August 2, August 9, and
August 16 .
On
August 25, the Finishing-with-a-Flair get-together will be held, and
a grand prize drawing will be held.
