Recently, members of Epsom’s New Rye Ladies Aid completed five children’s quilts. They will be given to Shriner’s Hospitals through Bektash Center in Concord. The quilts were presented during a church service in honor and memory of Barbara Taber, a long time member of Ladies Aid and Bektash Center.

 


 

This year, The Pagan Irizarry family is pleased to announce that their daughter, Lilia del Rosario Pagan Irizarry is among the 2009 grads. Lilia has been working as a LNA for the Epsom Manor for over a year while maintaning her academic standings at Manchester Central High School. Recently, Lilia was recognized for her hard work and accepted into the registry of Who’s who Among Women in America. Her family and friends extend their congratulations and wish her the best as she continues her studies in the medical field, “Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you’ll find one at the end of your arm... As you grow older you will discover you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.”

 


 

Epsom Public Library News


Upcoming children’s activities at the Epsom Public Library will be Movie Night on Monday, July 27 at 6:30 p.m. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. A special Night Time Story Time will be on Wednesday, July 29th at 6:30 p.m. featuring “Belle” from Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.” Join us for songs, stories and lots of fun. Lions Raffle Results


The Epsom-Chichester Lions would like to thank all the participants in the recent major fundraiser for the Club’s charities. Without the purchase of our raffle tickets that would have been impossible.


Many local businesses made contributions to the raffle and allowed us to sell tickets at their establishments.


The list is long: Maxfield’s Hardware Store, George’s Carpet, Route 4 Motors, Epsom Tool Rental, Northeast Earth Mechanics, Globe Manufacturing Company, Oxy-Gon Industries,  Griggs Enterprises, The Copper House LLC, Evans Group, Lisa Wickman-Longaberger Baskets, Circle 9 Restaurant, Northwood Diner, Clark’s Grain Store, Tractor Supply, North Country Tractor Inc., Sam’s Club.


The winners were:   Jep Possee- John Deere Lawn Tractor,  Eleanor Neubegin- Child’s John Deere “Gator”, Chris Bourque- Longaberger Basket, John Arsenault- Poulan Chain Saw.

Epsom Citizen of the Year Nominations


The Friends of Webster Park is now accepting your nomination for “CITIZEN OF THE YEAR” for 2009. The Friends of Webster Park is asking that your nomination be an individual who displays some or all of the following qualities:


• Outstanding citizenship
• Commitment to the community
• Extraordinary community service
• Leadership
• Positive influence on others


Please submit a short essay, describing your nomination and the reasons that they should be CITIZEN OF THE YEAR. Please include information about a lifetime achievement, a major achievement reached recently, or an achievement that is still in the making. If you have nominated someone in the past and they were not selected, please do not hesitate to nominate that person again. All entries must be submitted by Friday July 26, 2009 and should be mailed to: Citizen of the Year Nomination C/O Richard Verville, Friends of Webster Park, 449 New Orchard Road, EPSOM, NH 03234.

 


 

Summer Carnival


The Friends of Webster Park is currently seeking sponsors and contributions for this year’s Old Home Day event scheduled for August 8, 2009. Your support is what will make the Epsom Old Home Day a success.


All sponsors will be recognized during their sponsored event, and in the Old Home Day Program. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. Without your contributions, the Old Home Day event would not be possible. Attached is a list of proposed activities for the event.


This is the first year that the Friends of Webster Park is hosting this event and we are starting with very minimal funds from our account. The Friends of Webster Park is a 501-C-3 Non-Profit Organization registered with the State of New Hampshire, Secretary of State. Our purpose is to support the betterment of our Town Park for the enjoyment of all generations. All your contributions are tax deductible.
