Republicans in Allenstown, Epsom & Pittsfield, please
write in Ben Fontaine for State Representative on your
September 9 primary ballot. There is one open spot on
the Republican side and Ben would fill it very nicely.
He is from Allenstown and is very popular there. At one
time or another he has held almost every local elected
office from chairing the Selectmen on down. Ben’s a good
conservative and we would be very fortunate to have him
in the legislature.
Yours,
Dan McGuire
Candidate for State Representative

Letter to the Editor
In the article in Wednesday’s Monitor about the
septuplets from Egypt, Dr. Guido Pennings was quoted as
saying, “This is a medical failure. You cannot take this
risk because of the complications to the mother and the
babies.” He is referring to the fact that Egyptian
doctors gave fertility treatment to a married couple,
and they ended up having seven healthy babies (what a
tragedy!). The real failure is the world’s view that it
is acceptable to kill babies while in development in the
womb, but it is seen as poor judgement to give life to
seven babies. The world thinks it is perfectly normal to
allow a mother to choose to kill her child, but she
should not be given the choice to conceive with the
assistance of modern medicine. Enough already! Children
are an inheritance from God. It’s time the world started
treating them that way.

Letter To The Editor
I would like to give you some history about the four (4)
Democrats voted in by the people of Epsom. This year
they all Voted for the following:
-
HB 1426-tax on fuel / this raised the price of gas.
-
HB1427-raised the tax on fuel oil/raising the cost
of heating oil for NH residents.
-
SB235-which would assess a 2.5 cent per gallon sales
tax on milk.
-
SB502-which allows PT employees to be eligible for
unemployment benefits. It would increase state,
county and local expenditures thereby increasing
property taxes.
Hello! Do you want more new taxes or have you had
enough? I am an independent and usually vote Democrat
but not this year. I’m appalled to think that I trusted
our 4 Democrats to represent us and they didn’t. They
all said “No New Taxes”. This winter will bring a great
deal of hardships and we don’t need MORE NEW TAXES. VOTE
REPUBLICAN.
