June is rolling right along!  We have had some wonderful donations of horse related items: kids books, statues, some great dinosaur models (Jurassic Park is coming out soon!)

Books $1.00 a bag; a new delivery of matchbox/hot wheel cars, nice artificial flowers, and summer picnic related items.  Bathing suits are leaving quickly! Great selection of men’s and boys’ shorts.

We are on Rte 28, next to Parker’s Family Restaurant in the grey plaza near the Pittsfield line. Mon. 8-12;   Tues. & Thurs. 8-4;  Wed. 11-4 & Sat. 10-4.  247-7191.

Chichester Town Library News

Looking for a fun (and free) evening event that will get your toes tapping and bring a smile to your face?  Come to the Grange Hall tonight, Wednesday, June 20th, to hear the Ukeladies at 7 p.m.  A fun group of ukelele-playing ladies, they will be playing standards and hits for everyone’s enjoyment.  Refreshments will be provided.

Coloring for/by adults has been found to be a relaxing and de-stressing activity.  The library is offering this activity on Monday, June 25th at 4 p.m.  Supplies will be included.  You don’t even have to color within the lines, because there are no judges!

Down Cellar Writers will be meeting on Monday, June 25th at 7 p.m.  Facilitated by Mary Castelli, this group provides a venue for local writers and poets to bring their work and share it with others.

The Summer Reading Program, entitled “Libraries Rock!” kicks off next Thursday, the 28th, at 10:30 a.m. with “Messy Art.”  Kids can expect a fun morning which includes rock painting, a volcano, sand painting, tie-dying t-shirts (bring your own shirt to dye), ice chalk painting and puzzling with mosaic stickers.  What a great way to start the summer!

The library is exploring the interest of Chichester residents (and others) in supporting a Blood Drive in September.  Please sign up at the library so staff knows whether or not to schedule the event.

The three Democratic candidates for the House of Representatives from Merrimack 20 (Pembroke and Chichester) filed to run in the November election last week.  They are, from left to right, Clint Hanson, Dianne Schuett, and Dave Doherty.
