Come to the Grange/Town Hall, 54 Main Street, on Thursday, October 11, as Glenn Knoblock offers a fun and engaging look at the historic weathervanes found on New Hampshire churches, town halls, and other public buildings from earliest times down to the present. The Chichester Heritage Commission has received a grant from New Hampshire Humanities to present “New Hampshire on High: Historic and Unusual Weathervanes of the Granite State.” This program is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.  For more information, contact Lucille Noel at 798-5709.

 


 

Chichester Grange will meet on Wednesday, October 17, at 7 p.m. upstairs in the Grange Hall.

Chichester Town Library News

 

Thanks to everyone who donates to the Down Cellar Used Book area and to everyone who comes to buy.  It is a joy to see the continued love of reading in action.  After all, you can go anywhere and you can do anything while enjoying the contents of a book.

 

Knitters meet on Wednesday afternoons at 3:30 p.m.  

 

Tonight, Wednesday, is the Evening Book Club.  All are welcome to join this band of readers, as they discuss their books of choice.

 

Preschool Story Hour meets tomorrow at 10:45 a.m.  

 

The Lovers of the Chichester Library, the volunteer arm of the library, meets on Monday, October 15th, at 7 p.m.  If anyone would like to donate their time to help with the Down Cellar Used Book area and sales, helping with library programs by bringing snacks for programs, setting up and breaking down seating for programs, etc.; or, if you have a special talent that could be useful to the library; or, if you have a general interest in supporting the library, please come join this hearty group.

 

“Color and Coffee” has continued into the month of October (and, perhaps, forward) on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m.  Coffee/tea and doughnuts or other treats are available, along with coloring materials, to encourage participants.

 

A subcommittee of the Board of Trustees has begun a review of the library policies.  All meetings are open to the public.  The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 24th, at 4 p.m.
