Chichester Town Library News
Again, thanks to everyone
who came out for the Down Under Bookstore Sale this past Saturday.
Your participation helps to fund the programs we put on for
residents of Chichester and library patrons. Whether it be the
various programs in the Summer Reading Program, subsidizing a
project by our Young Adults, paying for the Pontine Theatre and
Dudley Laufman, etc., these funds add to the community life of
Chichester. Thank you.
Also, a big thanks to
Mike Williams of Stoney Brook Farm for donating vegetables for sale
at the Farmers’ Market, which was held in conjunction with the book
sale. Mike’s farm stand can be found on Main Street in town.
Also, as a vital part of
the community, the library accepts donations for the Chichester Food
Pantry. Please bring your non-perishable items (no glass jars or
other breakables) to the library and we will see they get to the
pantry.
Every Thursday morning,
except when there is no school in session, the Preschool Story and
Craft Hour for this school year meets for pre-school and
kindergarten age children. It started last week and will be held
again tomorrow, September 21st at 10:30 a.m. It’s a
wonderful time for the youngsters and caregivers.
Monday, September 25th at
7 p.m. is the Down Cellar Writers’ Meeting, where local writers and
poets are always welcome to bring and share their work.
A basket class is
scheduled for Wednesday September 27th at 6 p.m. These successful
classes are under the tutelage of Diane Mann. Please call the
library to sign up.

Competency Education Information Night
What is Competency Based
Learning? Why is New Hampshire moving toward this new model of
instruction? What are the principles of Competency Based Learning
and instruction? Where is CCS in this transition and what will this
look like for my child? These are all great questions we will begin
to answer on Sept. 28th from 6:30 – 7:30 PM. This will be an
opportunity for families to learn about this new model and ask
questions as CCS makes strides in this direction. Please join us
for this evening.
Parent Conference
Sign-Ups
On the afternoon of
Thursday, Oct. 19 (early release) and Friday Oct. 20, there will be
time in for K-8 grade teachers to meet with parents and guardians.
Many teachers began to fill their conference schedule at the
BBQ/Open house this month. Contact your child’s teacher or the main
office of school at 798-5651 to schedule a conference if you have
not already. A link between school and home is an essential
ingredient to a student’s success.
Grandparent Luncheon -
Time to Recognize and Appreciate
