Out Of Your Attic

Thrift Shop News

Submitted By Carol Hendee

The Attic does have three rooms. Many people do not venture beyond the first room, so this week, everything is 1/2 price-on the 25¢ shelf, take two for 25¢.

The third room has jackets, ladies formal and everyday dresses, baby clothes, bath tubs, blankets, books on pre-natal care and parenting, and baby toys.  Now there is a Halloween shelf and always the 25¢ shelves, plus a “linen tree!”

Open Mon. 8-12; Tues. & Thurs. 8-4; Wed. 11-4 & sat. 10-4.  247-7191 on 345 Suncook Valley Hgwy, Chichester.

Chichester Town Library News

The library will be participating in “Trunk and Treat” at Carpenter Park this Saturday.  Books, as well as candy, will be our treat to youngsters from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Thanks to everyone who patronizes the library’s Down Cellar Used Book Sales.  The last one of the year has occurred.  There will be a cart set up upstairs of “new” and “like new” books. These books, along with some vintage Christmas and holiday books will be available for sale.  They are definitely “gift” possibilities to consider.

The “Little Book Houses” will close for the season at the end of October.

Does anyone in the community have any “Duplos” that can be donated for the children’s use at story hour on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.?  They will be much appreciated, along with any “little people” which can be used in a doll house.

The Evening Book Club is meeting on Wednesday, November 8th, when they will be discussing Collapse:  How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed by Jared Diamond.  The club alternates their book selection between a fiction book and then a non-fiction book.

Remember to place your order for the “Looking at Chichester Past and Present” calendar that the Photography Club has compiled.  This calendar is a spectacular set of photographs for all who live and love Chichester.  It will sell for $20, with the proceeds to be donated to the Chichester Food Pantry.  You can sign up for your copy at the library.
