It is not too late to enjoy the museum and other passes the library has to offer, before the kids go back to school!  The SEE Science Center, Manchester-an interactive learning center-hands on experiments geared for kids 1-14-Free family pass.  The Currier Museum of Art, Manchester has something for all ages.  The Children’s Museum in Dover, children and families of all ages. Stop by the library for more info on these passes.

The Chichester Heritage Commission will meet Thursday, August 20th, at 7 p.m. at the Chichester Town Library, 161 Main Street. An alternate member position is currently available.

The third annual NH Permaculture Day is being held on Saturday, August 22, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Inheritance Farm, 112 Pleasant Street, in Chichester. Adult tickets are $35, and the price includes a local organic farm-to-table lunch. With over 30 events there is something for everyone – growing, harvesting, preparing, and preserving food, an herb walk, mushroom foray, raising farm animals, historic barns and natural building practices, sustainable energy and much more. Check out the locally made products for sale in the vendor area, and the children’s corner offers supervised activities and crafts all day long. Children ages 6-15 are $10 and ages 5 and under come for free.

The Chichester Food Pantry will have a basket for donations of food items, hygiene items, laundry and paper items and the money donation can at the August 22nd Chichester Library Book Sale and Farmer’s Market.  This will be 8-1, rain or shine.  Come and bring a can or two.

It’s not too early to plan to attend the “Fall Harvest Fair” at the Chichester Historical Society on Sunday afternoon, September 20, at 2 p.m. Take part in making cider with an old-fashioned press, watch wool being spun into yarn, decorate some pumpkins, dip a candle or two, and participate in other kid and adult friendly activities. For information, call Lucille at 98-5709.

Happy Birthday to Kara Jarvis and Sandra Millette on August 22 and to Dyllan Dupont on August 23.

Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop News

Submitted By Carol Hendee

The most wonderful thing happened at The Attic!  A Mom came in with an iPad, to photo her daughters coming through the door. The oldest had a guitar and was singing a song she wrote about how wonderful it was to shop at The Attic and thanked all the volunteers for their time and effort.  The younger girl had a backpack filled with supplies for the backpack program and the Mom gave us a check to purchase more supplies. That kind of display makes it all worthwhile!  Thank you very, very much.

We have an abundance of glassware: wine, brandy, champagne, and drinking glasses; glass punch bowl. Get ahead of the game for the holidays and stock up!  345 Suncook Valley Hgwy, Chichester; Mon. 8-12; Tues. & Thurs 8-4; Wed. 11-4 & Sat. 10-4.  247-7191.
