Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop News

Submitted By Carol Hendee

I just learned we can be called an “emporium” as the definition of one is: A place of trade; a market place; a store carrying a diversity of articles.” That is The Attic!

We have long sleeve shirts to thwart the darn mosquitoes in the evening; planters for flowers and herbs; glassware for various uses from vases to bowls, for projects or home use.  Clothes for everyone, especially babies 0-18 months. Don’t forget our 25¢ rack; tag color green for June. There are toys and many books to choose from.

We are at 345 Suncook Valley Highway, Chichester and are open Mon. 8-12; Tues. and Thurs. 8-4; Wed. 11-4 and Sat. 10-4. Call 934-0087 for Baby Threads and 247-7191 for the Attic.

Chichester Town Library News

As summer approaches, the Chichester Town Library is launching its Summer Reading Program.  Participating individuals must keep track of their time and report in regularly.  They will be eligible for raffle prizes.  Teams, a new addition to the program, will be competing for a “Pizza/Movie Night” prize in September, also based on the total number of hours spent reading. Teams will be comprised of 3-7 year olds, 8-12 year olds and 13-17 year olds. In addition, the library has the Great Stone Face books and the Isinglass Award winners in stock to help with the school’s required summer reading. Sign-up starts June 10th!

In conjunction with the reading portion of the program, the following events are also scheduled for participants:

• Friday, June 28th, 6:30 p.m.: Fun stations of activities for all ages, including science, arts and crafts, dance and more!

• Wednesday, July 10th, 6:30 p.m.: For 3-6 year olds - a sleepover for their stuffed animals.  Each participant should bring their favorite stuffed animal to the library.  They will then construct a car and watch a short movie (The Gruffalo), drive-in style, with their animal and then leave the animal for the sleepover.  The animals can then be picked up the next day, tired as they will probably be. Note: There is a separate sign-up for this event.

• Friday, July 19th, 6:30 p.m.: Acclaimed storyteller Gail Drucker will be visiting.

• Friday, August 23rd, 6:30 p.m.: Movie Night!  See Wreck It Ralph and we’ll pick the raffle winners.
