Chichester NH News

July 6, 2011

4th Annual Vacation Bible School at Epsom Bible Church on July 11-15 from 8:45-12:00. Kids going into 1st grade through 6th grade come join us for games, crafts, music, food, Bible stories, prizes and fun.

Unfortunately, Julia Valotto’s name was omitted from the Chichester Central School’s High Honor roll for the 4th Quarter.  We would like to congratulate Julia for making High Honors not just for the 4th quarter--but for the entire school year. We’re sorry for the omission Julia.

The Chichester Town Library will be holding a Book Sale on Saturday, July 9, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pound Road entrance behind the library. The selection is enormous and the price is right. Come and stock up on your summer reading.

Join members of the Chichester Historical Society for their annual picnic at Thunder Bridge on Depot Road on Monday, July 11, at 6:30 p.m. Anyone is welcome. Just pack a sandwich, bring a chair, and prepare to enjoy yourself at one of the nicest little picnic spots in town. The Historical Society will provide beverages and dessert. Thunder Bridge, maintained by the Chichester Historical Society, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Old Home Day Committee will meet on Tuesday, July 12, at 7 p.m. at the Pavilion at Carpenter Park. If you are interested in helping out with Old Home Day on August 20, you are welcome to attend this meeting.

Registrations are now being accepted for the CYA summer soccer camp run by Midwest Soccer to be held at Carpenter Park the week of August 8. There will be a half- day program for U6 and U8 and full day for U8 up to U19.  To register or for more information, visit www.midwestsoccer.net or call 877-714-5575.

Chichester’s Old Home Day will be August 20 this year. The theme is: Chichester Fire Department - Celebrating 75 Years of Service. Be sure to call Jaan Luikmil at 545-9087 if you need space at Carpenter Park or are planning to have an entry in the parade.

Are you interested in being a youth soccer referee? The CYA is looking for individuals 12 and older that would be interested in taking the referee class. Please contact soccer commissioner Jacqueline Hannah at 961-0017.

Please contact JoAnn Luikmil at 798-5483 if you are willing to bake cookies for the Old Home Day noon meal. If several people would each bring a batch of cookies to Carpenter Park on August 20, she would be all set. Please let her know if you can help.

If you have Yard Sale items to donate, Stacey Luikmil is looking for them to put under the Yard Sale Tent at Old Home Day on August 20. Pick-up can be arranged. Call her at 798-4987.

Out of Your Attic Thrift Shop News

We have the best customers ever!  We asked for a refrigerator and we had four offers!  That is just inspiring!  Thank you ever so much. We appreciate your thoughtfulness.

As summer swings along, we have a lot of new merchandise every week!  People who have had yard sales and have leftovers, have been bringing in their treasures to us, which is great for business.  The only thing we need now is a hand truck, as some of the bags are very heavy and we older ladies have some trouble getting them to the back and moving them around.

Remember, our Xmas in July on the 9th 10-2, and we are open Mon. 8-12, Tues. 8-4, Wed. 11-4, Thurs. 8-4, Fri. and Sat. 10-4 at 345 Suncook Valley Highway.  247-7191
