Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop News
Submitted By Carol Hendee

As Easter draws closer, stop by and pick up baskets to fill with goodies, or a nice stuffed bunny or duck, or a nice book about the Easter story. There may even be an Easter bonnet for a lucky lady.  Also, shorts and T-shirts are out with an average price of $1.00.  Sneakers and sandals are also appearing.

Some items we are in need of include: party favors, napkins, plates, cups and candles for the birthday kits.  Please label any items you donate for the birthday kits.

We also need sleeping bags for kids going to camp as well as items for the treat bags we give to Meals on Wheels and the Salvation Army Friendly Kitchen.  It can be anything small:  candy bars, pretzels, chips, cookies, juice box or even granola bars or fruit roll ups.  Just something a little out of the ordinary. We’re always happy to pass along a can of soup or tuna fish too!

Stop in at 345 Suncook Valley Hwy, Chichester -Tues. and Thurs. 8-4, Wed. 11-4 and Sat. 10-4 or call 247-7191 or 707-7577 with questions.

Chichester Grange

Chichester Grange met on Wednesday, April 6th, upstairs in the Grange Hall. The evening began at 6 p.m. with a tasty supper of lasagna (both meat and veggie) and Caesar salad with hot fruit salad and cookies for dessert. Three members of Daniel Webster Grange in Webster came for the supper and the meeting. Proceeds from the supper will be donated to the various NH State Grange Youth Funds.

Plans were made to host a NH State Grange Membership Team on April 16th. Five posters will be displayed in the community and newspaper and website publicity will be sought. A potluck lunch will be provided for team members and perhaps visitors from the community will bring food as well.

The next meeting will be Family and Community Night on April 20th. Whoopie Pies will be judged for the baking contest. Awards Night is coming up on May 4th.

Wildlife sightings included woodchucks, a fisher cat, a coyote, chipmunks, robins, wild turkeys, and ants. Clearly spring weather is approaching.

The Youth Night program included the Lasagna Song and some fashion facts from the past. Did you know that when men’s briefs with the open seam were introduced in England in 1938 it was suggested that left-handed men should wear them inside out?
