Chichester Central School PTO will be hosting the annual pancake
breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 10 from 8 - 11 am.
Tickets are $4/adult, $2/child, $1/age 5 and under, with a maximum
of $15/family. Check out the Scholastic Book Fair in the school
library while you are there. It will be open during the breakfast,
and during the school day Monday - Wednesday December 12-14, as well
as Mon. and Tues. December 12 and 13 from 6-8 pm.
Happy Birthday to Ed Millette on December 8.
It looks like Chichester will be having a Christmas Tree Lighting
after all. The Firefighters Association, which has been an important
part of the Christmas Tree Lighting in years past, has expressed a
willingness to take it on this year. They are planning for Saturday,
December 17, at 6 p.m. so watch their sign for further developments.
Santa Is Packing Up His Sleigh
The Chichester Police Department and The Chichester Police
Association are currently taking applications for Secret Santa.
If you know of a needy family or a senior citizen in the town of
Chichester who could use a little assistance this holiday season,
please let the Chichester Police Department know by calling
798-4911. We do not want to see any family in need and not receive
some assistance for the holidays. There are still elderly folks that
believe in Santa, so let us know of someone who could use a little
surprise for Christmas. Every year it seems that the demands grow,
and therefore, we are trying to help Santa and get our requests to
him in a timely fashion. I hear that he still has job openings for
elves, to shop and wrap. You know he is getting older and requires
lots of help himself to get the job accomplished. Applications can
be picked up at the Chichester Police Station until December 16.
Thank you once more for your continued support and if you wish to
make monetary donations, please make checks out to the Chichester
Police Association.
Suncook River Nomination Public Information Meeting
The Suncook River Nomination Committee, comprising the communities
of Allenstown, Barnstead, Chichester, Epsom, Gilmanton, Pembroke,
and Pittsfield, will hold a Public Information Meeting on the
benefits of nominating the Suncook River to the NH Rivers Management
and Protection Program. The meeting will include a presentation on
what designation would mean to communities and riverfront
landowners, a question and answer session, the process the
nomination must take prior to potential designation, and what
information can be provided by residents to support the nomination
application for designation.
This Public Information Meeting is intended as an introduction to
the nomination process. The nomination package will be developed in
2012 through a participatory public process. The Nomination
Committee seeks community input and support throughout the process.
The Public Information Meeting will be held on Thursday, December 8,
2011 from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Chichester Grange Hall at 54 Main
Street in Chichester. All are invited to attend and participate.

Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop News
Submitted By Carol Hendee
It has been an interesting week. A truck went through our window in
the second room. No one was hurt, thank goodness. We should have a
new window and a warm store by the time you read this.
The good work done by Baby Threads continues. 100 Christmas bags
went to the Pittsfield Fire Dept. 155 bags to CAP for delivery to
Laconia, Concord, Franklin, and Suncook. 52 bags are ready for the
Boys and Girls Club. 120 bags went north for the Day of Sharing.
Work is being done for Chichester and Epsom children.
We are low on new toys for the remaining gift bags, and are hoping
donations designated for Christmas will come in.
Plan ahead. Dec. 22nd is the last 1/2 price day of the year. We will
be closed Dec. 27th - 31st to reopen and do it all again Jan. 2,
2012!
Stop in to the yellow building in the Blueberry Plaza, Mon. 8-12,

Chichester Cub Scouts Reach Out To Veterans In Afghanistan
We sent a special request to our Cub Scouts and they answered. The
request was for our soldiers -- They are our soldiers and they are
atop a 7 thousand foot mountain peak where OP Mustang is. An
isolated and frigid mountain top; OP and these men need some serious
love.
These soldiers are on the front line Infantry unit in the mountains
of Afghanistan and it is one of the most dangerous areas. They are
engaging the enemy on a near daily basis. They are all football
fanatics and aren’t complaining about anything. If you can help
them, please let me know and I would be happy to ship a package out
to them. They are under the command of Cpt M. P. Brabner. They need
DVDs, snacks, coloring books and crayons (they give these to the
kids in the area) and letters of support.
Well, these Cub Scouts answered. They came to the Elks on November
25th and held the cards they wrote to the soldiers who need our love
and support. Those cards were written from the heart. We thanked
their parents as they are a credit to what their children are. If
this is any indication of the upcoming generation, we are in
wonderful shape in this country, because these kids already know
what’s important. They also presented us with a bag full of DVDs,
snacks, etc., and those wonderful cards.

Attention Residence of Chichester:
I would like to thank all of you for your support of old home day
over the past years and all the donations and ideas for the event.
Thank you to all the businesses and individuals for your donations
and support.
I am no longer going to be your host of old home day. It’s time for
me to have more time to myself and my family. Thank you very much.

The Road Advisory Committee (RAC) of the Town of Chichester is
preparing its 2011 report. A draft of this report has been completed
and is available on the town’s website (www.chichesternh.org).
There are 39.2 miles of town-maintained roads in Chichester.
Maintaining and repairing these roads is a time-consuming and
expensive proposition. Our report makes specific suggestions for
important road projects for 2012, 2013, and 2014.
The RAC is inviting all interested residents of Chichester to review
the draft report, ask questions, and offer comments at a special
public meeting. The meeting will be held in Chichester Town Hall at
7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12. The RAC will then complete a final
draft of the report before January 1, 2012.
Members of the RAC are John Amsden, Stan Brehm, Richard DeBold
(Selectman ex-officio), Dave Dobson, Doug Hall, Tom Jameson, Alan
Mayville, Jr., Terry McCormack, and Jim Plunkett (Road Agent).
