What goes around-comes around; how true!
A young couple came into the store with a tiny baby
and wanted to know if we were accepting maternity clothes, regular
clothes and baby items and toys.
I said "Yes."
They brought in a good amount of donations.
He said, "You don’t remember us, do you? You gave us
a layette bag when the baby was born and clothes before so we would
be ready. We are moving and want you to have what we can’t take."
That made our day, week, and month. We wish them
well.
We have someone looking for a percolator for fall
and winter camping. We are bringing out coats, sweaters, boots,
fleece tops, etc. for good old colder fall and winter. Come see us
for the best selection at 345 Suncook Valley Highway, Chichester;
Monday 8-12, Tuesday and Thursday 8-4, Wednesday 11-4 and Saturday
10-4 or call us at 707-7577 or 247-7191.
Chichester Heritage Commission 1st Annual Community
Bulb Planting
Grab a trowel, bring a bulb planter and join in a
community bulb planting effort at sites along historic Main Street.
Through the generous donation of one of the Heritage Commission’s
members, 2000 bulbs will be ready to be planted at six sites to
create a burst of color next spring. Sites include the fire
department grounds, the Grange/Town Hall, the town library grounds,
the Chichester Central School grounds, and two State owned areas
(pending District 5 permission.)
A sign-up sheet will be available at the town
library. We’ll need six to eight people at each area. So pick your
favorite site. Meet at the library at 10 am on Saturday, October
22nd with trowel or bulb planter in hand for brief bulb planting
instructions. Extra tools will be available. Other towns have done
this; so can we! For information contact member of the Heritage
Commission or call Lucille at 798-5709 or Michelle at 731-6034.

arise; all opinions are welcome. We hope you will join us at the

The moderator will be Chichester resident Jimmy
Pappas, who taught philosophy at the high school level for many
years. This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will
be served. Please call 798-5613 or 798-3410 if you have any
questions and to sign up.
Chichester Thanksgiving Baskets
Pumpkins, hay bales, and cornstalks stand as
reminders for us that it is time to think about the fast approaching
holidays. Thanksgiving is a time for giving Thanks and helping out
those less fortunate. Therefore, the Chichester Welfare Department
is preparing its list of those who might need a little help with
serving up that one special meal. Obviously, we all know someone who
is struggling economically or just getting by. That’s where the
Chichester Welfare Office can help out! If you know of a family or
elderly person or persons in the Town of Chichester who could use a
Thanksgiving basket for the holiday, or if you would like to make a
donation, please contact Donna Stockman at 798-3278. Any information
received is held in strict confidence.

pastas/sauces, peanut butter, and healthy cereal. Fresh produce will
also be accepted.

massages on Tuesday, October 25th from 4-7 pm with a monetary or
food donation. Donations will be accepted throughout the week at our
office and those who donate 5 or more items or $5 or more will
receive a coupon for $10 off a massage. All proceeds will go
directly to local food pantries.
"Chair Massage allows us an opportunity to educate
clients with a quick, healthy way to relax. At the same time they
can help support their local community with a donation" says Amy
