Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop News Article
Submitted By Carol Hendee

When you hear the word “backpack,” some of you may think of Dora the Explorer and some of you may think, oh NO, school time again.

When the folks at the Attic hear “backpack” the thought turns to filling 600 backpacks with school supplies for area children. In 2008, 500 backpacks were given out. In 2009, 585 were assembled and distributed.

This year, the need is even greater, with the goal being 600 backpacks. One wonderful patron of the Attic brought in bags of pencils, pens, paper, markers, etc. that she had purchased from a huge sale at Staples-for that, Thank You so much.

If you have the means to provide some supplies so children can start school with the same supplies as all the other kids, please bring them to the Attic. We are open Tues., 8-4; Wed., 11-4; Thurs., 8-4; and Sat., 10-4; at 345 Suncook Valley Hwy, Chichester. We can also give you a record of the donation for tax purposes.
