The Chichester Food Pantry would like to thank Mrs. Kneeland’s 2K class for
contributing and organizing a food drive at the Chichester Central School as
part of their Multi-Cultural project. Also, thanks to all who contributed
during the month of January. A list of the most needed items for the Pantry
is posted on the town website and at the town office building.
The Chichester Historical Society will present “More from Our
Archives” on Monday, March 8, at 7 p.m. Members and friends will be
reading selections from letters and diaries connected with
Chichester residents from the past. This program will be held at the
Society’s museum on 49 Main Street. Refreshments will be served. All
Historical Society programs are free, and all are welcome.
On Tuesday, March 9, the Epsom Central School will be holding the
fourth annual Spaghetti Dinner to raise additional money for an
award in remembrance of Officer Michael Briggs. The award will be
given to a graduating eighth grade student. The money will then be
distributed at the end of high school as this student pursues post
secondary education or enters a public service career. Epsom Central
School staff will be cooking and serving the food for the dinner,
all of which was provided by a generous donation from Nick at Epsom
House of Pizza.
The dinner will be from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost will be $5.00 for adults
and $3.00 for children. Please contact Mrs. Donovan or Mrs. Paine at
736-9331 if you have any questions. We appreciate your support.
Happy Birthday to Molly Dahl on March 4 and Megan Morey on March
5.
The annual School District Meeting for the Town of Chichester
will be held on Saturday, March 6, at 9 a.m. at Chichester Central
School. Come a little early to pick up your voting card from the
Supervisors of the Checklist and collect any papers you may need to
look at. Someone will probably be selling coffee and snacks, so
bring a little money along. The meeting usually adjourns a little
after 12 noon unless there are many ballot votes or controversial
topics.
On Tuesday, March 9, there is voting at the Town/Grange Hall for
Town and School District Officers. The polls are open from 10 a.m.
to 7 p.m. Remember, if you don’t vote you have no right to complain
about your town officials!
The deadline for registration for the 2010 Baseball and Softball
Season will be March 13th. If you have lost your registration
form, you can print one from the Chichester Youth Association
website at
www.chichesteryouth.com.

Letter
We are all human, not one of us is perfect. Since time began,
people have had conflicts with each other and unfortunately, this is
probably not going to change any time soon. People have the right to their
own opinions but not at the expense of slandering someone’s name in print or
making false accusations without getting their facts straight.
As your
Selectman for the past 6 years, I have tried to make decisions, based on
information available to me, that were in the best interest of the entire
town. The present board has been accused of having too many non-public
sessions. I encourage you to read the public minutes which state the reasons
for having these non-public sessions in the first place.
Recently, our
Fire Chief has had to take a leave of absence so he can deal with some legal
issues. Unfortunately, a few people in town have tried and convicted him in
the papers. I believe if a person has committed a crime they should be held
accountable, but whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?
I am
seeking re-election on March 9th. I have served the town on the Budget
Committee for 15 years, Planning Board for 9 years, BOA, 10 years, Heritage
Committee, 1 year, and was involved with the Town Facility Committee. I am
also on the Board of Directors of Merrimack County Farm Bureau.
I am a
self-employed farmer/contractor in town which gives me a flexible schedule
to meet your needs. My phone # is 798-5720 and has been in the phone book
for over 30 years. I would like your vote on Election Day and encourage you
to call me any time if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you for
your support.

Out of Your Attic Thrift Shop News
Submitted By Carol Hendee
This
is a continuation of the list of what your donations to the Thrift Shop
helped accomplish in 2009. The organization was able to deliver:
53 pairs
of new shoes for children; 56 hats and mittens for nursery school; 20
hoodies; 34 hats and 22 sets of gloves for Head Start; 15 bags of clothing,
shoes, and books for a mission project; 150 towels for the homeless, fire
victims and swim classes for needy children; 20 sleeping bags for homeless
and children going to summer camp; 13 bikes for foster children; 10 foster
children helped with sports shoes/equipment.
Which leads to the
question-do you have any used baseball, soccer, or lacrosse shoes or
equipment your child won’t be using this spring? Feel free to drop them off
at the store.
We are located at 345 Suncook Highway, Chichester and are
open Tues., Wed., Thurs., 8-4 and Sat., 10-4. Thank you for your support!
For our WISH LIST: bassinet pad, a wall clock and a single bed.
