Letter
Chichester Voters,
I was excited when my friend Mike Paveglio let me
know he would be a candidate for Chichester Selectman in March. If, like me,
you have been disgusted with the poor decisions and less than courteous
treatment of citizens and employees by members of the current Board, then
Mike’s candidacy comes as a breath of fresh air. In recent years the
Selectmen have made decisions which have cost thousands of wasted dollars
and driven-off qualified Town employees. When presented with the facts, the
current Board has, on many occasions, ignored the facts in favor of their
personal opinions. Maybe these decisions have not been malicious, but more a
matter of trying to perform a job for which they are poorly qualified.
As a mid-level manager for a world-wide manufacturing corporation Mike
Paveglio has the skills that the Town of Chichester needs to put its Board
of Selectmen back on track. In his regular job Mike has to deal with both
budgets and people, and knows the necessity to treating employees in an
ethical and legal manner. As a longtime volunteer with numerous Town
committees and Departments he also knows that the Selectmen should be
applying these same employee practices. He also knows how to work within a
budget to balance the needs with the wants. With his experience as a former
fire chief, I hope that Mike can restore confidence that our fire department
is professionally managed, as well as staffed, and equipped to provide a
timely response to emergencies in our community.
In the past, I voted for Selectman MacCleery because I believed he deserved
the opportunity to serve as Selectman. Because of his poor performance and
penchant for mistreating Town employees, I will never vote for him again,
and look forward to his replacement in the 2010 elections.

So many customers and friends have
stopped in and asked how Ruthi is doing. She was a friend with a smiling
face to so many. We contacted Ruthi and she said to tell everyone that she
is “pretty much back to her old self again!” That is great to hear. We thank
her ever so much for all her hard work and dedication and wish her good
health and happiness.
Please stop in and say hello to the folks carrying on Ruthi’s good work.
We have many sweaters for this chilly season and if you’re home during a
storm, we have many games and puzzles to help you forget the storm outside.
Candles and candle holders are also available “just in case.” Also, toys for
the kids are in stock, along with nice stuffed animals for cuddling.
Hope to see you soon! Our hours are: Tues., Wed., and Thurs., 8-4 and
Sat., 10-4.
