Pioneer Club

At Pioneer Clubs, not only will we have tons of fun and earn awards, we will look deeper into the life of Jesus.  Every lesson throughout the evening is geared toward kids from Kindergarten to 6th grade and our leaders are ready to engage your child in every area of our Pioneer Club meeting, from song time to game time.

Pioneer Club kids will make friends.  You will earn awards for learning new skills (like First Aid, Hiking, and Cycling) and as you work your way through the group Bible Study lessons.  On the first night, September 27th, Club members will learn about their Award Lanyard and set some goals for themselves.  Awards will be proudly displayed on their lanyard for the duration of their participation in Club.

Pioneer Clubs will meet on Wednesdays from 6pm to 7:30pm at the Center Barnstead Christian Church, located beside the Barnstead Town Hall.  Family Prayer Meeting is held simultaneously.  September 27th is our first Pioneer Club meeting. All kids, Kindergarten to 6th grade, are invited to join!

Songs of Emigration: Storytelling Through Traditional Irish Music

On Wednesday, September 20 at 7pm Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki will relay some of the adventures, misadventures, and emotions experienced by Irish emigrants through traditional music. The focus will be on songs about leaving Ireland. These may include reasons for leaving, revealing what happened upon arrival, and exploring the universal feeling of homesickness of a stranger in a strange land. The presenter will discuss the historical context of these songs, interspersing their stories with tunes from Ireland that made their way into New England’s musical repertoire, played on his fiddle or guitar. This event will take place at the Barnstead Town Hall and is sponsored by the Barnstead Historical Society and Oscar Foss Memorial Library, with funding made possible by NH Humanities.

NH DMV To Close Offices For Two-Days During Software Upgrade

The NH Department of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will implement a new driver licensing system in October to replace the current system originally implemented in the 1980s. Implementation of the new system will require the closure of all DMV offices on Monday, October 9th and Tuesday, October 10th and will temporarily limit some services.

“Although temporarily closing DMV offices is required during this transition time, we are aware of how the closure will impact our customers,” said DMV Director Elizabeth Bielecki. “Hopefully, by providing advanced notice, we will minimize the inconvenience this closure will cause.”

During the transition:

• Town/City Municipal clerks will not be able to process the state portion of vehicle

registrations from Friday, October 6, through Tuesday, October 10.

• Online services, including Online Driver License Renewal and Online Ticket Pay, will not be available from Wednesday, October 4, through Wednesday, October 11.

• Ticket pay by phone will not be available on Monday, October 9, and Tuesday, October 10. To pay a ticket by phone on another day during normal business hours, please call 1-800-272-0036.

Customers are encouraged to complete DMV transactions regarding driver licenses and registrations in advance of expiration dates if they expire during the transition period. In the days following implementation of the new system, customers may experience longer than usual wait times and are asked to plan their visit accordingly.

Save time by completing forms in advance of your visit. Answers to frequently asked questions and forms are available at the DMV website at www.nh.gov/dmv.
