Thanksgiving Pie Social

 

The Center Barnstead Christian Church will be hosting a Thanksgiving Pie Social on Tuesday, November 21st at 6:30pm.  Join us for a night of praise, thankfulness and PIE!  Bring pie or just bring your family.  Feel free to invite others to come with you.  All are welcomed!

Ladies Night: Cookie Swap

 

Attention Ladies, On Monday, December 4, you are invited to the annual Cookie Swap at Center Barnstead Christian Church.  The fun will start at 7pm.  Please bring 4 dozen cookies (or brownies, fudge, or other yummy treats) of the same type. We will provide containers for you to bring home a wide assortment of delicious holiday sweets!  During our time together, we will enjoy snacks and sampling, a chance to visit, and there will be prizes for the top 3 cookies.  Come and get in the Christmas spirit with us and satisfy your sweet tooth.

Oscar Foss Memorial Library News

 

Centennial Celebration

 

On Saturday, October 21 the library celebrated its 100th year! Our centennial celebration activities were enjoyed by many community members and families. The children loved visiting with Elephant and Piggie and listening to Josh Judge read his new book. Everyone in attendance received a special library centennial bag and water bottle to commemorate the occasion. The library staff would like to thank the trustees and volunteers who helped to make it such a wonderful day. Please note that the library will be closed November 23 & 24 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

There is always something happening at the Oscar Foss Memorial Library! Library hours are; Tuesday and Wednesday: 10am-6pm, Thursday and Friday: 12pm-8pm, Saturday: 10am-1pm, Sunday and Monday: closed.

 


 

Crafters Wanted!

For the Second Annual Holiday Craft Fair located at the Maple Street Church, 96 Maple St., Center Barnstead, Saturday, November 18, from 9:00a.m. to 2:00p.m.

 

The Barnstead Farmers Market and Maple Street Church are sponsoring this year’s Holiday Craft Fair! We are seeking craftsmen, farmer’s market type products and anything that is homemade and unique.

Obituaries


 

Angelina Barbato

Center Barnstead - Angelina Barbato, age 94, of North Road in Center Barnstead, died November 6, 2017 at Wolfeboro Bay Center.

 

Born May 6, 1923 in Italy, she resided there all her life, moving here to Center Barnstead with her daughter and family, eight years ago.

 

Angelina loved her garden, she was an avid gardener, an excellent Italian cook, who loved to share a story. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and crafting jewelry.

 

Survived by her daughter Antonietta and husband Malcolm and 2 grandchildren: Michael Angelo and Alexander of Center Barnstead, a daughter Philomena in Texas and 2 sons in New York: Carmen and Assunto and beloved grandchildren.

 

Interment will be at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Albany, New York. Cremation care by Peaslee Alton Funeral Home. To express condolences, please visit: www.peasleefuneralhome.com
