2014 Archery Sign Ups

It’s that time of year again…summer!  For Parks and Rec, summer means beach weather, concerts and archery.  Last year, our trial archery offering was a huge success, and we’re happy to offer it again.  Registrations are currently being accepted, now through July 13.  The cost to register is $15.00 per child, with a family cap of $30.00.  Register online (www.barnsteadrec.org/archery) and deliver payment and a signed waiver to the new BPR drop box located just outside the entrance to the town offices, or deliver your paper registration, payment and waiver to the drop box.  Checks should be payable to Barnstead P&R.  In addition, you can visit us at one of our upcoming in-person sign up nights, to be announced.  At the time of registration, please be sure to let us know if your child is a Belknap County 4H member.  If your child is new to archery, we encourage you to visit us in person so we can answer your questions and be sure he or she is appropriately sized for our equipment.

Classes will run at Big River Recreation Area each Friday beginning on July 18, 2014, and will continue through the fall. Archers will be grouped by age, with children aged 8-12 shooting from 5:00-6:30 pm, and children 13 and older shooting from 6:30-8:00 pm (or until dark).  Children must bring their own arm guard and safety glasses.  Children in the 8-12 group must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.  Water and hot dogs will be available for purchase, and we welcome volunteers to assist with sales.  Please contact Lyla if you are willing to help ([email protected]).  Finally, Parks and Recreation will gladly accept donated latex balloons for use on the targets.  As always, thank you for your support of this and all Parks and Recreation programs.
