“Fancy
Nancy Tea Party”
Everyone
was looking fabulous and had a marvelous time at our Fancy Nancy Tea
Party on November 16th at the Oscar Foss Memorial Library. Special teas
and treats were served and the children enjoyed hearing a Fancy Nancy
story, playing Fancy Bingo, and making Fancy Nancy Paper Dolls. A tea
set and wooded bookends were raffled off as door prizes but everybody
went home happy with extra ‘bling’ and special game surprises. We hope
to see you all at the next tea party!

The Oscar
Foss Memorial Library And Barnstead Elementary School Welcomes Author
Jonathan Hall And Toto
On
Thursday, November 21st author Jonathan Hall and his furry companion
Toto the Tornado Kitten visited students in grades K-3. Hall, a
paramedic in Brimfield MA first met Toto after the devastating Tornado
tore through Brimfield, MA in June of 2011. Toto was found up in a tree
frightened and hungry. Hall gave the tiny kitten to the Animal Rescue
League of Boston where they fostered the kitten for six weeks. Hall then
went back and adopted his new furry friend. In an effort to raise money
for the Animal Rescue League of Boston Hall decided to write a book,
Toto the Tornado Kitten and donate 100% of the proceeds to this
worthwhile organization. Since writing the book and a sequel Oh Toto!
Where did you go? Hall has raised well over $35,000. On his days off
Hall and Toto travel to libraries and schools to share this heartwarming
story. The Oscar Foss Memorial Library and the Barnstead Elementary
School Library have copies of these books. For more information visit

Two Long
Years
On December
10th at 4:15 it will be two long years. Not a day goes by that we don’t
think of you, and miss you so much. It’s still sad to see the school bus
stop at the end of the driveway and you’re not getting off and coming
home.
We still
have your clothes hanging up, as if it were yesterday, but days turn to
weeks, then months, and now it’s been two years.
Winter
nights are so, so long. When it gets dark at 4:30, that’s when we would
play board games, card games, and Daddy was teaching you to play chess.
Another
Christmas around the corner. We don’t have Christmas anymore because
Christmas is for children. Daddy still has the presents that he got for
you, but you had gone to heaven. We did get the present you got for us
at school. We waited till Christmas to open them. We won’t get anymore
from you, but we’ll remember the presents you gave us forever.
We love and
miss you so much. I know you’re in God’s hands, but we still want you in
our arms.
Love Daddy

BARC’G To
Meet December 10
The
Barnstead-Alton-Gilmanton Republican Committee (BARC’G) announces that
their next monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 10 at 6:30
pm at J.J. Goodwin’s Restaurant, 769 Suncook Valley Highway (Rt 28), in
Center Barnstead.
This
month’s meeting will feature BARC’G’s annual Christmas Party. Bring the
“spirit of the holidays” with you and plan to enjoy good conversation
with your friends and neighbors. Remember, BARC’G meetings are open to
ALL Republicans and like-minded Independents from Alton, Barnstead, and
Gilmanton, and any other towns in New Hampshire. So, if you’ve never
attended a BARC’G (formerly BARC) meeting, or it’s been a while since
you have, this is a great opportunity to meet new people or to renew old
acquaintances while at the same time talking about the Republican
Party’s re-focus on grass roots politicking, candidates, and plans for
the future. Also, a “surprise” guest has been invited to attend the
meeting, and he’s sure to liven things up!
Per their
usual meeting format, if you’re interested in having dinner (at your
option) or wish to socialize before the meeting, plan to arrive as early
as 5:30pm.
And, at
this time of year, it’s so important to remember those who are less
fortunate. So, the Committee asks that each attendee bring a
non-perishable food item (cans of soup, tuna fish, etc, etc) to the
meeting for distribution to local food pantries.

information, please send an email to

residents of Belknap County, the Committee is pleased to announce that
Karen Testerman, US Senate candidate, will be the guest speaker. Karen
will explain why she has decided to run for Jeanne Shaheen’s Senate
seat, and, at the same time, she will share her position on various
issues affecting New Hampshire and the United States. If you’re
