Votesmart And The New Voter ID Law
Submitted By Heather Carter
If you live in New Hampshire and don’t have an ID, **you can still
vote**! You’ll just have to sign an affidavit at the polls. Please share
this important info so that people don’t lose out on their right to vote
by thinking they’ll be turned away at the polls. Voter turnout is very
important! Please be as cooperative as possible at the polls to ensure a
smooth, quick voting process for everyone who is there to vote. Delays
and long lines may deter people from voting.
If you have questions or
problems, call the Election Hotline at 1-866-868-3703.
According to
Votesmart.org:
Voter Registration Registration Deadline: You may
register at the polls on Election Day by 5 pm. If you would like to be
listed in the registration database before Election Day, your
registration form must be received by your local Board of Elections 10
days before Election Day. Your registration will be valid either way.
Party Affiliation: Undeclared voters may choose either party’s ballot in
the primary election. If you are registered with a party you must
vote that party’s ballot in the primary election. If you voted on a
party ballot in the last primary election, you are now a registered
member of that party unless you filled out a card to return to
undeclared status with the supervisors of the checklist.
Qualifications Age: Must be 18 years or older on Election Day
Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen
Residency: There is no
minimum period of time you are required to have lived in the state
before being allowed to register. You may register as soon as you
move into your new community.

prove their identity: • New Hampshire driver’s license • Armed
services identification • Other photo identification issued by the
United States government • Photo driver’s license issued by any state
or federal government • United States passport • Photo
identification issued by local or state government
Other forms of
photo identification judged to be legitimate and trustworthy by the
Supervisors, such as • ID badges issued by hospitals, employers, or
educational institutions • Verification of the person’s identity by
another person registered as a voter and known to the supervisor or
clerk; or • Other reasonable means as determined by the Supervisors
As a last resort, a person may prove identity by completing a qualified
voter affidavit (RSA 654:12, III)
New registrants must prove
citizenship. Supervisors should require an applicant to prove
citizenship by presenting any of the following: -Birth Certificate
-United States Passport -Naturalization papers -Qualified voter
affidavit; or -Any other reasonable document establishing that the
applicant is a United States citizen
Obtaining A Voter

community’s Supervisors of the Checklist. By law they are required to
meet on the Saturday 10 days prior to each election. Check the local

meeting.

CBCC To
Have Guest Speaker This Sunday
Janet and Craig Parshall will be
speaking at Center Barnstead Christian Church on Sunday, October 14th
for Sunday School (9:00 – 9:45 am) and for the morning worship service
(10:00 – 11:30 am).
Janet, best known for her national talk show, “In
the Market with Janet Parshall” is heard weekdays
throughout southern NH from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on WDER 92.1 FM/WDER 1320 AM
as well as locally on WWPC 91.7 FM and WVNH 91.1 FM. She recently
authored the book, “Buyer Beware - Finding the Truth in the Marketplace
of Ideas.” This work is a non-fiction look through the lens of Scripture
at current issues confronting the Christian Church today.
Janet will
be discussing the “Spiritual State of the Union”, challenging the Church
to be biblical in its approach to the world.
Craig, who is Senior
Vice-President and General Counsel for the National Religious
Broadcasters organization, has also been busy at the keyboard having
just completed a book, co-authored with ‘Left Behind’ series author, Tim
LaHaye, entitled “Brink of Chaos.” The novel explores what America
and the world might look like just before the beginning of the
Tribulation, with a corrupt White House beholden to the international
community, loss of basic liberties along with a political and economic
collapse.
He will be sharing his insights on free speech attacks
against Christians, and how this might fit into end times prophecy.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear Janet and Craig Parshall right
here in your own backyard! Center Barnstead Christian Church is located
next to the Center Barnstead Fire Department and Town Hall at 116 South
Barnstead Road, Center Barnstead. Call 437-WDER (9337) for more
