Bring Your
Appetite
“Are you hungry for a treat? Want food that’s fun to eat? Come to
Barnstead Old Home Day, in your neighborhood. Barnstead Fun Day-we make
celebrating so good!"*
Make
sure you come to Barnstead Old Home Day, August 27, 2011, with an empty
stomach and plans for a fulfilling (full-filling) day.
Start out the morning with a pancake breakfast, at the Parade Fire
station, put on by the Barnstead Fire and Rescue. Taste the
melt-in-your mouth pancakes with the sweet, rich maple syrup. Wash
it down with juice or a cup of steaming coffee. For your
mid-morning snack, stop by and grab a piece of watermelon at the Old
Home Day table at the Parade grounds.
For lunch at the
Parade, enjoy a sausage and pepper sub at the Barnstead Youth Baseball
Softball table. Or, maybe you might relish a hotdog from the Girl
Scouts. The Lions Club is offering French fries and chicken
tenders for a quick finger-food treat. Wet your whistle with a
tall glass of lemonade at the North Barnstead Congregational Church
booth or a root beer from the Explorer’s Club. For an afternoon
snack, sample the funnel cakes, popcorn, or pretzels by the Barnstead
Fire and Rescue. And what fair would be complete without some
sticky cotton candy provided by the North Barnstead Congregational
Church.
Save room for dinner. The SnoRiders
are sponsoring a BBQ Chicken Dinner at the Parade Fire Station.
Finger-licking good! You can enjoy the auction at the same time,
or wander over to the Classic Vehicles and pick your favorite. If
you are still hungry, vendors will be at the Parade grounds with some
scrumptious treats.
This is just a small sampling of the
delicious morsels being offered from a variety of different clubs and
vendors. Bring your appetite and we will see you August 27, 2011.
* - Sung to the tune of the old McDonald’s advertisement.
