Letter To The Editor
I am writing to you because my family is desperately in need of help
finding our dad. I feel as if the public is our last source of clues as
to where he is.
Neighbors claim to have seen him December 11th in his yard. His last
bank transaction was at the Barnstead Country store Thursday, December
8th at 8:30 pm, leaving on foot.
He left his wallet, keys, medications and all other belongings at home
including his cats, which he would never leave behind. His mail had been
piled up since that Thursday (he checked the mail daily) and the
condition of the litter boxes looked like they hadn’t been touched in
days. He was reported missing on the 12th and his home and surrounding
areas were looked at.
He left his house in a green puffy winter coat, black baseball cap,
walking cane, and backpack for his groceries. He would have been headed
North on Rt 28 walking in the breakdown lane towards home.
Family, friends, and complete strangers have been gathering the past
week in search of him. We have covered miles of roadway, trails, rivers,
and woods that he may have possibly attempted to walk home.
On December 16th, Sergeant McDowell from the Barnstead Police
Department, NH Fish and Game, and the State Police aided in the search,
yet after that date there has not been an ‘official’ search for him. To
this day we are still out covering as much ground as we can looking for
answers. Any help is greatly appreciated, as well as needed. Thank you
in advance.
We feel as if someone must have seen him walking or gave him a ride
somewhere. We are offering a $500 reward for information leading to his
location.
Sincerely,
Hannah Barnet
