Letter

I am writing to urge voters in NH Senate District 4 (Alton, Barnstead, Belmont, Gilford, Gilmanton, Laconia, Strafford and Tilton) to vote for Jim Forsythe in the Sept 14th Republican Primary.

As a former State Representative I know how complicated the issues that are dealt with in Concord are. Jim has what it takes to understand and resolve these issues. He has a PHD in Engineering, is a former Air Force Officer and has run his own business.

As a fellow resident of Strafford, I have worked with Jim in his capacity as the Chair of the Strafford Taxpayers Association. He has shown he is willing to work hard to solve the problems facing towns like Strafford.

Jim realizes we must take back our state from the big spending, nanny state liberals who are now in charge. He knows we cannot continue the double digit increases in spending without new large tax increases. In the Senate, Jim will work to decrease state spending and the size of state government while fighting any and all new taxes.

Jim understands the concerns with ever growing government are not limited to just tax increases but also include the loss of freedoms. He will work to stop the state intrusions into areas where it does not belong. He is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and will make sure that all law abiding citizens of NH will not have their right to keep and bear arms infringed.

We must stop the growth of government and the associated loss of freedom now. It is time to take our state back. I know no better way of doing that than to elect Jim Forysthe to the Senate. So please join me on Sept 14th in voting for Jim Forsythe for State Senate from District 4.

Hon Michael Harrington
Strafford , NH

CBCC at WOL

On Saturday, July 31, 2010, a number of families from the Center Barnstead Christian Church will make the journey up to the Word of Life Family Campground near Schroon Lake, NY, for a week of camping, fun, fellowship, and Christian teachings. For the adults, mornings at the camp are spent learning more about the Bible and our relationship with God from teachers such as Dr. Harry Bollback, Dr. Mark Bailey, Dr. Ken Whitten, Dr. Charles Ware. Age appropriate children’s programs and groups are held during the same time as the adult teachings. This alleviates the need to make special arrangements for child care or to wonder what your children are up to, as you are engaged in learning.

During the afternoon free time, we are able to participate in some of the many activities available to campers at the family campground such as swimming, tubing, basketball, putt golf, carpet ball, skate park or volleyball. Families can also choose to do nothing but relax and enjoy one another’s company. Tuesday’s Family Fun Day is a big hit with all of us, as we watch our children participate in the various games and challenges.

There are more age appropriate teachings and groups available in the evenings, followed by various games and tournaments or other activities. Our evenings usually end by a gathering of the CBCC families around a communal campfire, eating S’mores and telling tales.

No description of the family campground would be complete without mentioning the food. Although most people provide their own food, breakfast, lunch and dinner are available for reasonable prices in the dining hall. The highlights of the food week are Thursday’s steak night and the “Make your Own” sundaes four times during the week.

It’s a testament to the people at the WOL Family Campground that most of the families are returning this year, and we have even added families! If you would like more information about our week of family camping, you can call CBCC at 269-8831 or come visit us on Route 126 in Center Barnstead (next to the Town Hall). If you would like more information about the Word of Life Family Campground, visit www.wolcamps.com or call 1-518-494-1390.
