Letter To The Editor
America, Leadership, And Elections
America is a great nation and we are great people.
What do the words leader and leadership imply to
you? Would you say that they suggest integrity,
knowledge, courage, decisiveness, and dependability?
We the American People, expect those qualities in
our leaders, but, read the headlines, watch TV,
listen to the radio. What’s in the news? Our society
is plagued, with, corruption, waste, and
mismanagement, in government and in the private
sector. What has happened to America and our
leaders?
Where have the principles and techniques of
leadership gone? Has someone taken those principles
and techniques and hidden them away in a dark closet
somewhere in hope that the American People will
forget them?
Don’t let them do this to us!
America is great, because America is good! When
America ceases to be good, America will cease to be
great.
In order for America to remain good, leadership must
remain strong and maintained at all levels of our
society, from the lowliest individual family member
all the way to the office of the president.
The National Elections for 2008 are right around the
corner (the first Tuesday in November). You have a
citizen duty to register and vote for the candidate
of your choice. You will have to give this decision
long and careful consideration.
The choices that you make on Election Day will be
capable of withstanding any trial concerning the
United States, and do whatever is honorable,
whatever is just, and whatever is commendable for
America. A deficient choice will carry over to our
children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Thank you and may GOD continue to bless America,
land of the free and home of the brave.

Suncook Valley Sno-Riders
It doesn’t seem possible that it is October already
and time to start thinking about getting ready to
hit the trails with our snow machines.
The club has been actively going over the trails
that need to be rerouted and cleaned up. The
tornado did hit some trails and there is some
extensive work to be done. We did meet this summer
to insure that we would be on top of what needs to
be taken care of.
We are also getting ready to put on our annual Ham &
Bean Dinner on November 8th at the Pittsfield
Community Center from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, as well as
selling NHSA raffle tickets on the same day in
Barnstead and Pittsfield. Raffle prizes this year
will not only include a sled and a trailer but a
$1000 and $500 Irving gas card. Be sure to purchase
a ticket!
Our OHRV course will take place in January so that
anyone turning 12 this season can be looking forward
to securing their certificate. If you are
interested in helping with any of our activities,
feel free to contact any officer and they will pass
the word along to the committees.
We have a new web site being developed and are
looking forward to some new and exciting changes
taking place. Our map committee is restructuring the
current map to update any new trails that have been
established. They will be contacting local
businesses soon to see if they are interested in
placing an ad on the map.
Maintenance is being done on our groomers so that
when there is enough snow they will be ready to roll
with no delays. We look forward to meeting you on
the trail soon. Let’s hope for lots of snow and
great trails.
Animals Will Be Blessed
Plan to bring your special furry friends ; your
feathered birds; and your colorful fish to the
Congregational Church of North Barnstead (UCC) this
coming Sunday, Oct. 26th to be blessed by the Rev.
Gayle Whittemore in the tradition begun by St.
Francis.
Our service begins at 10 A.M. at 504 North Barnstead
Road. Everyone and every animal is welcome!
