2015 Northwood Bean Hole Bash Thank You
Thank you from the 2015 Northwood Bean Hole Bash committee for
making this year’s event another success.
We
appreciate all of the support we have received to make this
community family event to keep growing and the suggestions we
received to make the event better each year.
The
committee has already begun working on changes for next year
including better signage for parking and the shuttle pickup.
Any suggestions can be sent to Bean Hole Bash, PO Box 353,
Northwood, NH 03261.
Thank you to the Town of Northwood for allowing us to use the
Town Hall grounds, the Northwood Congregational Church for the
use of the tent, Coe Brown for the use of their tables and
chairs, parking lots and fields. Coe Brown FFA for providing
the firewood used in the bean pit. We appreciate Northwood
businesses for adding the event to your signs and purchasing
advertising in the brochure. Thank you to Northwood Fire Rescue
for the use of their tables and chairs including moving them to
and from the event. We were overwhelmed with the beautiful
continuous arm bench donated by D.R Dimes & Company Ltd for our
raffle and everyone who purchased raffle tickets in hopes it
would become a family heirloom in their home. 4 Northwood
families will be enjoying their gift certificates donated by
Johnson’s and two other families now have NALMC Leopold Benches
that were built at the event.
The committee would like to extend their thank you to the
Northwood Diner for their generous Bean Hole Bash Supper food
donation.
The committee appreciates Northwood Transportation and
Kingston’s Karts for stepping up to provide the much needed
shuttle service and Sheila Holmes for helping in her beautifully
decorated cart on Friday night and for the entire event on
Saturday.
Thank you to the many citizens, businesses and organizations
that helped in so many ways during the past year and at the
event, we wish we could recognize everyone individually as this
event could not happen without your support.
Save the dates of July 29th and 30th of 2016 for the next
Northwood Bean Hole Bash.
Chesley Memorial Library News
There’s still time to have some fun this summer! The library
has a variety of museum and local attraction passes available:
Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Canterbury Shaker Village,
Children’s Museum of NH, SEE Science Center, and Strawbery
Banke. Each pass works a little differently…some let you in
free while others provide discounted admission. We can also
provide you with information on when to visit the Bedrock
Gardens in Lee and the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester for
free admission. Please call the library at 942-5472 for more
information.
Genealogy Work Session
Discover your family roots! The Chesley Memorial Library will
hold an informal basic genealogy work session by David Ramsey on
Saturday, August 22, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Spend an hour or two
learning the basics of genealogy through Ancestry Library
Edition and talk to other people interested in genealogy.
Participants will learn how to use the Ancestry programs to
find information about their parents and grandparents. Please
bring any information you have about your relatives…births,
deaths, and marriages all help to narrow down a search. It’s
fun to discover who came before us! The library still has
access to Ancestry Library Edition thanks to the Friends of the
Northwood Libraries. Join us for the basic genealogy workshop or
stop in and use one of our public access computers to start your
genealogy search today.
