Veteran
Benefits Class
As part
of their continuing schedule of outreach/community events, your VFW
department service office will be conducting an informative class
concerning benefits widows of veterans are entitled to submit VA
claims for, after the loss of their veteran spouse.
The
event will be held with the Joseph J. Jeffrey Memorial Post #7217,
at the Northwood Community Center, 135 Main Street, Northwood, NH
03261, on Saturday, November 9 from 12 noon to 2 pm.
All
Veterans are invited and encouraged to attend this event, which is
designed to help those they leave behind have a better understanding
of what potential benefits are available to them, and how your VFW
department service office can assist you with submitting claims to
the VA.
Veterans do NOT have to be eligible for membership within the VFW to
attend this class… If you are a member, or are considering becoming
a member of our veteran’s organization, a portion of your membership
dues helps to fund community outreach events like this one, and
enables the service office to continue to assist veterans and their
widows across our state in navigating through the VA claims system.

CBNA
Theatre Presents Shakespeare’s The Comedy Of Errors
October 24 –
26, 2013
CBNA
Students Gwyneth Horne (left) as Antipholous of Syracuse and Ryan
Wadleigh (right) as Dromio of Syracuse rehearse a scene from
Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors
Antipholus of Syracuse has a twin, Antipholus of Hollywood. Dromio
of Syracuse, his servant, has a twin, Dromio of Hollywood. The twins
were separated at birth and have never met. Today… they are in the
same city. In a town like Hollywood in the silent movie era, events
like these can only lead to confusion. Coe-Brown Northwood Academy
Theatre is proud to present Shakespeare’s classic farce The COMEDY
OF ERRORS on October 24, 25, 26, 2013, at 7 pm in the Gerrish Gym on
the CBNA Campus. This hilarious story of mistaken identity and
wrongful accusation is sure to please. The action will be
transported to the early 1920s, to Hollywood, a land of glitz and
glitter and movies, movies, movies. A cast of 28 students will
populate “Tinseltown” including seniors Grace Axelrod, Taylor
Bowden, Jessica Cedrone, Shane Chittum, Samantha Corwin, Jessica
Gallant, Gwyneth Horne, Allyson LaFrance, and Anna Leclerc; juniors
Olivia Anatone, Jillian Burrows, Sophia Chartier, Julia Collins,
Rachel Dallaire, Hannah Grady, and Colton Rush; sophomores Janais
Axelrod, Jessica Cooper, Jared Neal, Emily Therrien, and Ryan
Wadleigh and freshmen Cassandra Barnhart, Elizabeth Bisson, Lauren
Burrows, Camryn Chick, Joe Guptill, Arianna Jones, and Kelsey
Wallace The production is being directed by faculty member
Elizabeth Lent with assistance from faculty member Kolby Hume.
Reserved tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and seniors
and will be available by calling 942-5531 ext. 237 or by email at

Northwood School Holds CPR Training For Staff
On
October 11, five staff members spent their professional workshop day
becoming certified in CPR, AED use and emergency first aid. Kelly
Brown, Speech Therapist, Jen Lenharth and Nancy Reeves, 7/8th grade
teachers, Hope McConnell and Julie Doiron, paraprofessionals, now
hold the certification, which is valid for two years. The
instructor was Beth Benham, RN, Northwood School nurse. The five
join 11 others that were certified a year ago during a professional
day. Mrs. Benham hopes that the majority of staff members will
eventually attain and keep up certification as well. She commented,
“Several people have told me after the training that though they
were nervous about the class at first, they felt much more
comfortable after the training. There’s a lot of chance to practice
hands on skills and that empowers them to feel they really could
help someone in an emergency, either here at school, at home or out
in the community.”
