Chichester Central Honors Veterans
Respect and gratitude were evident on 7th and 8th grade
students’ faces as they visited the New Hampshire State Veterans
cemetery on Thursday, November 8. The Chichester Central
School middle school students participated in the Flags Out For
Veterans event in preparation for Veterans Day. Prior to
decorating the graves of those who served our country, students
took time to reflect while touring the cemetery and record their
thoughts on those whose dedication and sense of service has
provided freedoms which they enjoy today.
During the Veterans Day assembly in the morning at school on
Friday, November 9, all Chichester Central students shared their
appreciation with local veterans and families members who served
in our country’s armed forces. For the third year in a
row, members of the 2nd Detachment of the 160th Engineers
Reserve Unit, stationed in Strafford, NH honored Chichester
Central School with a visit. Students were able to ask
questions of the reservists, tour their vehicles, and learn
about the life of a soldier. Most importantly, students were
able to share their gratitude for these individuals who are
currently serving our country.
