From left: Selectmen Alden Dill and Scott Bryer stand in
support as Selectman Robert Holden congratulates James Lindquist
after presenting him with the Northwood Fire Chief badge.
James Lindquist has been chosen Northwood’s Fire Chief and received
his badge at the recent Board of Selectmen meeting, when the
appointment was announced. Chief Lindquist started with the
Department as an Explorer in 1997, became a Fire Fighter-EMT in
2000, and was selected for the position of Lieutenant in 2006.
James is a resident of Northwood, graduated from Coe-Brown Northwood
Academy and received his Associates Degree from McIntosh College in
Dover. He is a Captain with the New Hampshire Fire Academy as his
full time career.
After receiving his badge, Chief Lindquist thanked the Selectmen for
their support and stated that he hopes the change in leadership
continues to bring the department in the direction started by
outgoing Chief George Ashford, who served for 13 years.
