After the devastation Hurricane Sandy left along the east coast,
school bus driver, Ben Morse, came up with a great idea. He wanted
to “Stuff a Bus” with items to help out with hurricane relief in New
Jersey.
All our school districts were notified and all week long the
donations kept coming in. By Friday afternoon, we had enough to pack
four school buses! All four buses departed Saturday, November 10,
2012 at 7 am, to drive down to NJ to drop off everything we
collected. Items included clothing, blankets/bedding, non-perishable
food items, cleaning supplies, flash lights, batteries, toiletries,
school supplies, diapers, and even pet food!
We would like to say Thank You to the communities involved: Epsom,
Barrington, Nottingham, Deerfield, Strafford, Raymond, and to many
others who just came by with truck loads of items to donate. Also,
thank you to the many other school bus drivers who helped load and
unload the buses.
Special thank you to the four school bus drivers who donated their
time, making the drive to NJ and back, and to Student Transportation
of America (STA), for donating the fuel. What a great effort!
