Pittsfield’s World War II Veterans Books
These
four Pittsfield women depicted on the cover are among more than 450
veterans discussed in the five volume set of Pittsfield’s World War
II veterans books.
A
five volume collection containing more than 450 biographies of the
men and women of Pittsfield who served in World War II has been
published by the Pittsfield Historical Society. This
culmination of twelve years of research and writing authored by
Larry Berkson and Robert Moulton contains over 350 pictures of these
veterans.
Volume I discusses those who served in the U.S. Army in the United
States and Northern Europe. Volume II discusses veterans who
served in the Army in North Africa, Southern Europe and the Pacific.
Volume III discusses veterans who served in the Army Air Corps while
Volume IV discusses those who served in the Coast Guard, Marines,
Merchant Marines and Navy. Finally, Volume V discusses female
veterans and veterans loosely associated with Pittsfield.
These books are available for purchase at $20 each, or $85 for the
five volume set at the Pittsfield Town Hall, the Suncook Valley Sun
offices or at the Pittsfield Historical Society Building on Elm
Street on Tuesday mornings. For those unable to shop in
Pittsfield these books can be delivered through the mail, however
