The
Gilmanton Year-Round Library will be presenting the program “State
of The Loon”, on Friday, July 13, at 6:00 p.m. This program,
conducted by Harry Vogal, Executive Director of the Loon
Preservation Committee, will focus on the natural history,
challenges, and successes of the Loon population in New Hampshire.
Vogal, a biologist by training, has been studying loons for close to
20 years as a researcher and then Project Biologist for the Canadian
Lakes Loon Survey of Bird Studies Canada. He is also the
Co-chair for the Northeast Loon Study Working Group studying issues
affecting loon populations and other wildlife in the northeast.
