Ellis-Geddes-Levitt, Unit 102 American Legion Auxiliary Awards

American Legion Auxiliary Ellis-Geddes-Levitt, Unit 102
Ellis-Geddes-Levitt, Unit 102 of the American Legion Auxiliary is
pleased to announce that Alexa McNamara of Gilmanton, N. H. has been
selected to receive the Stockwell Scholarship. This scholarship is
based on an essay written about what it means to the candidate to be
an American. It is awarded annually to a graduating Gilmanton Senior
from Gilford High School.
In
addition, kudos go to Karina MacLeod, seventh grade student at
Gilmanton School, as the winner of the Memorial Day essay, also
sponsored by the Ellis-Geddes-Levitt Unit 102. The winner of this
essay receives a monetary award and is given the honor of reading
the essay at the Gilmanton Memorial Day ceremonies held on the
grounds of the historic Smith Meeting House.
Congratulations to both girls!
The
Auxiliary’s purpose is to Further Americanism and support Veterans,
Military, Their Families, Their Community and support Education.
These annual awards encourage students to consider the importance of
contributions to the community and society.
